Summary
- Wakan Tanka, the creator, walking around the Earth was trying to make changes to his creations
- He gave sharp teeth to the Mountain Lion and the Wolf
- Great Strength to the Bear and Quick wits to the Coyote
- Just then a Mother Deer, walked by him
- She asked him to provide protection for her young & Wobbly fawn
- Wakan Tanka said "Wica Yaka Pelo", You have spoken truly and shall provide protection for your young one"
- He then made paint from the leaves and painted spots on the young fawn
- He breathed and took away the fawn's scent
- He then said "Now no one can spot your young one because of its spots and no scent, that's their defense"
