- Definition: It is the method of calculating the total of two or more numbers to know the sum of the numbers.

Rules:
The addent + The addent = The sum
For example: 4 + 3 = 7, 29 + 30 = 59,..How to make an addition?
If the sum of the units column is:- Case 1: Less than 10
Do the operation normally and respectively
For example: 15+24= 39
(Units : 5+4=9
Tens: 1+2=3) - Case 2: Greater than or equal to 10
1. Hold the last digit of the sum of the units column
2. Add 1 to tens
For example:
59+15 = 74
+ The sum of the units column is 9+5=14, and then we only hold the last digit- the number 4
+ The sum of the tens column is 5+1=6, then add 1 into 6. Finally, the result is 7
==> To sum up, the final answer is 74
