Description: Ants and its Community
The intelligence of ants
Community
- The young ones
- The males - that do not work
- One or more queen ants
- The wingless workers
- The communities of ants are large, can be upto 500,000
The system
- have wings at first, lose them after one marriage flight and settle in the nest
- The queens are really mothers
- Worker ants always look at the queen as if the sight of her makes them happy
- They do not fight within their communities, but do not tolerate intruders
The Author's notes
- The Author introduced ants of one nest into another where they were not welcomed
- Even when separated for more than a year, the ants of the same community recognize themselves
- If injured, the ants lay in the nest until they're healed.
- If the queen is dead, the other ants lay around her and express gratitude for she's truly a mother
