What is an Equation ?
- An equation is a statement of equality containing one or more variables.
- There is always an equality sign in an equation eg. 3x + 2 = 11
- Equations remain the same when the expression in the left and right are interchanged.
Solving an Equation
- It means, finding the value of the variable in the equation.
- Example
Variable
- A variable is a quantity that can change.
- It is denoted by alphabets eg. a, b, c, d, e, f,.....etc.
Transposition
- It involves changing the relative position of a number.
