What is the PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT/NMSQT or the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is conducted by the College board. It provides great practice for the SAT because they test the same skills and knowledge as the SAT—in a way that makes sense for your grade level. In which grade can I take the PSAT/NMSQT tests?
11th Graders or academically gifted 10th graders, with the permission of their high school, can take the PSAT/NMSQT.
What are the different sections in the PSAT/NMSQT test?
The PSAT/NMSQT tests student knowledge on Math, Reading as well as Writing and Language.
What is the duration of each section?
The PSAT/NMSQT Math section will be for a duration of 70 mins and students will answer 48 questions
The Reading section will be for a duration of 60 mins and students will answer 47 questions
The Writing and Language section will be for a duration of 35 mins and students will answer 44 questions
