It was a beautiful day outside. A group of children were playing in the yard. They noticed a bees’ nest on the roof, so they started throwing rocks, sticks, and other items to try to knock it down. The nest moved a little, but it didn’t fall to the ground. Instead, hundreds of bees flew out going in many directions.
Robert turned and ran away as fast as he could while yelling, “Get down! Get down!” He could hear Louise screaming. Robert dove to the ground as many bees flew over him. He could hear all of the other kids responding in the same way.
The bees’ nest was still hanging. John looked around the yard for something really long to use. He noticed his dad’s rake sitting by the porch, so he took the rake and ran over to the porch. He swung it as hard as he could, hitting the nest. The nest was dislodged, went flying through the air, and landed near Robert. With a shriek, Robert jumped to his feet and ran to the other side of the yard. The others were also yelping and trying to run away.
