Blended Learning

There is an increasing tilt towards blended learning which includes a day where the child can learn from home. Some schools also experimented with a virtual day.

The reason for this was attributed to making the child tech savvy and prepare for the future work from home situation.

For more than a decade schools have had online courses to supplement school learning but it is only in the recent past where schools are contemplating “blended learning” which merge the face to face education with computer based instructions.

States such as Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Pennsylvania have approved laws that allow schools to leverage those technologies via e-learning days in response. This is very helpful during bad weather days and other emergencies.

The “work from home” days are planned school events promoting student independence. This also helps the school to save energy and transportation costs on such days.

With increasing technological advances, blended learning will gain more and more importance in the days to come.
