00:03 | so my name is there a before coming to M
00:07 | I . T . I was a kid . I | |
00:09 | used to make noise from trash like a lot of
00:12 | stories and that fills where keyboards and mice life and
00:15 | I would make out of that . After that when
00:19 | I came to I started working on the body and
00:24 | one of the things I used to work was programmable
00:27 | hair . So these small fabrics that you wouldn't have
00:30 | maintained on your phone and people start changes . The
00:35 | other thing was these muscles so you can just do
00:38 | this and the muscles of course synthetic muscles but good
00:41 | in a late night street and you feel second and
00:44 | you just do this and muscles about . So today
00:48 | I want to talk about shoes and so I grew
00:51 | up in , I grew up in India you get
00:53 | there by my accent , a forest of dreams and
00:56 | I moved to other cities leader visual forest of buildings
01:00 | , parts of concrete . Um to finally Cambridge beautiful
01:04 | Cambridge . And everywhere I saw I saw these people
01:08 | smartphone and I was always curious you know everyone is
01:13 | kind of looking at the world through this window this
01:16 | window last windows by inch and I got myself a
01:20 | smartphone through and it was awesome because it looked into
01:24 | the directions that I uh business to go to the
01:27 | 19 so shocked but something was missing in this video
01:32 | . I kind of missed the mothers of speeds ,
01:35 | the wonder and wonder in the city . I was
01:37 | always people respond and I never looked up And then
01:41 | I picked up my childhood in my only they can
01:44 | over the next 34 years old and 12 barefoot and
01:48 | I think walking backwards kind of my game , I
01:51 | feel this institution as my feet knew where they were
01:54 | already and in a way because your feet are the
01:58 | interface between your bodies and your feet is working into
02:02 | . So I started working on like maybe can I
02:06 | get this sense of evolution back into this digital life
02:10 | that we live in ? Uh they live in these
02:13 | big cities through our shoes . So , european solutions
02:18 | . So this this is what solution . It's a
02:22 | it's a innocence which you put it any issues and
02:25 | it's flexible . Made of silicon or here are three
02:30 | viper like activators . In other words , it's a
02:33 | different kind of vibration motor which tickles your feet and
02:36 | the three of them . So they go on ,
02:38 | see this uh , for this one goes second thoughts
02:41 | use a sense of like I have been sticking your
02:43 | feet from below . This is an absence of so
02:47 | you can talk to your shoes by tapping and recognize
02:50 | that this is what microcontroller which is the brain of
02:53 | the soul and that is a little bit starts to
02:57 | your form for internet location and that's a battery .
03:00 | So in this hole is flexibility , twisted . You
03:04 | can fold it , you can put in your pocket
03:06 | . Um , it's very confident , comfortable and soft
03:09 | . Yeah . And you can put out an official
03:13 | sandals or anything . Boots and anything will choose the
03:17 | colors officials . So the first thing I want to
03:20 | drive was max because I use my smartphone mostly .
03:24 | I would use the match to go about around the
03:26 | city . So what if it's a beautiful and my
03:29 | shoes to take me to places . So these are
03:33 | folks , if the left few takers take left like
03:36 | critical thinking . I've done , if they don't think
03:38 | you keep walking . Oh my God . So I
03:46 | practiced my friends . Huh ? This one . So
04:26 | it doesn't need to look at the street anymore .
04:28 | Issues taken places . And um , in the March
04:34 | of last year I visited less and then like when
04:37 | he was the new city , your loss because you
04:39 | don't know what to do , where to go ,
04:40 | which places to go to the city and you feel
04:44 | lost on a good day . And I thought ,
04:46 | what is my shoes now ? My good eye ,
04:49 | one questions to go , my face , my personality
04:51 | , my life's and suggested this to go to .
04:54 | So I mean this thing called shoe center , which
04:56 | is a name that which is you go here one
04:58 | time any feeling what kind of food you like music
05:01 | , like what things you like to shop for ,
05:04 | posterity references to like open this club basis etcetera etcetera
05:08 | . So now she would know me as a person
05:11 | and since they know my location to my spot form
05:14 | , they get dignity places . So um in november
05:17 | of the doctor , most of us were in Tokyo
05:20 | and uh I love Okonomiyaki . So I'm gonna make
05:22 | a japanese visa and shoes will take me to the
05:27 | closest place which would sell really nice . Yeah .
05:31 | So the clothes is what your , what your feet
05:34 | tickle its recommendation . So you can choose something screen
05:38 | , what is recommending Or maybe you just walk and
05:40 | you get surprised because you don't know what's coming up
05:42 | . Maybe it's a bookstore , celebrated books . Maybe
05:46 | it's a drug store and you will be surprised .
05:54 | So this is who likes to see monuments and churches
06:00 | and suggesting that they can do . Mm hmm .
06:15 | And like everyone else , I made a little list
06:17 | . A lot of things to do and things like
06:20 | going to laundry uh bigger flowers . My girlfriend and
06:25 | I always forget because there's so many things to do
06:28 | . And one reason is also because most of these
06:31 | things are my platform , the dust place and my
06:34 | smartphone doesn't remind me , my smartphone doesn't remind me
06:37 | , but I'm actually in front of the flower shop
06:39 | , doesn't remind me . Then I look and I
06:41 | see like , oh my God , I got to
06:43 | pick up flowers . So what if I should just
06:46 | useful ? Actually remind me in front of the shop
06:48 | . So if it tickles twice , uh , it's
06:52 | kind of a buzzer was like , you look around
06:54 | like , oh yeah , I need to become flowers
06:58 | . Yes , Yeah . Oh yeah . So interviewing
07:15 | the shoes become my prosthesis in this way . And
07:19 | these are my calendar looks and I'm sure most people
07:21 | scandals similar . We always run , we run from
07:25 | home to office from meetings to other meetings and were
07:28 | always busy . We don't have time to take breaks
07:31 | . So what if the shoes , since they already
07:35 | know how I spend my day ? Uh , they
07:37 | have access to my talent that they know how busy
07:40 | and what I do ? So what if they find
07:43 | the three times a day and a half an hour
07:45 | shoes would be like , hey you don't need a
07:47 | break and they plan to look for me , which
07:50 | makes me back uh where I start and in a
07:53 | few minutes I'm ready for the next meeting . And
07:57 | the beauty is I don't know where this is going
07:59 | to take me . So I just go out and
08:02 | walk and it's only tell that I know that I'm
08:04 | taking . That's right . And in a way it's
08:07 | like walking with a friend who knows the locality and
08:10 | even worry about where to go . Oh and I
08:48 | find myself must relax and come back . So in
08:52 | a way that you become my friend and Mhm .
08:56 | When I looked at how I traveled , I found
08:59 | out that this is where I live incentives where in
09:02 | the world here and I obviously optimizing the shortest route
09:06 | and maps any any application of citizens shortest will do
09:09 | any place you will be asked . But the way
09:13 | cities are designed um there are many streets , many
09:18 | rules . It's a grid . So you could essentially
09:20 | take a number of routes to the same place and
09:23 | take more time . You can take a number of
09:25 | routes and you can see other streets which would be
09:27 | more interesting to you . So and the whole idea
09:30 | of getting lost . We don't need not anymore .
09:31 | We always we always found So what are the shoes
09:37 | could suggest me and you allowed to take my work
09:41 | every single day . And will my life be more
09:44 | inspiring in a way because I get to see more
09:46 | things . Mm Yeah . So yeah , she was
10:21 | you know , we become like a body and then
10:24 | although these are exaggerated methods , but you can see
10:27 | how the relationship was from the early physical , more
10:30 | emotional in a way it was from the utility to
10:36 | work with people connection . And that's what I wanted
10:40 | to share today with you , which is the art
10:42 | and science of getting lost with taking shoes . Thank
10:45 | you . |
