00:01	we're going to be having a look at in this
00:02	video is we're gonna be looking at a way of
00:04	solving linear equations with variables on both sides . This
00:08	is a pretty easy thing to do . So I'll
00:10	show you a way of doing this . Um now
00:13	these are the questions that look like this . They
00:15	might get something that looks like three X plus four
00:20	. The calls two X plus six . Now ,
00:26	as you see , we got variables on both sides
00:28	of these are these ones here , these three X
00:29	and two X . And we also generally have these
00:32	standard constant numbers is four . And these six here
00:35	, do you notice we have 44 ? Number three
00:37	? We have three X . We have positive four
00:39	. We have positive two X . And we have
00:42	six . So we're going to solve this by basically
00:44	grouping all the X numbers on one side of the
00:48	equation and all the other numbers on the other side
00:51	of the equation . Now to do this is fairly
00:53	simple . Pretty much . We're going to try and
00:56	get these exes over this side and all these other
00:58	numbers on this side . So to get this two
01:02	X on this side , pretty much what you're going
01:04	to see at the moment , we can get rid
01:05	of this two X . It's a positive two X
01:07	. We can take it away . If we take
01:09	it off this side we can take it off this
01:11	side as well . Okay ? And you can see
01:15	that if we do that to X take away two
01:17	X gets rid of it , Okay ? It ends
01:19	up with nothing and three X take away two X
01:22	. Is just X . Okay , I also want
01:25	to get this four on this side . So to
01:27	do this at the moment it's a positive for I'm
01:30	going to take it off both sides . Okay ,
01:33	So four take four is canceling out , and six
01:35	take Away Four is too . Now that's the way
01:39	we generally solve these , but you can probably see
01:41	that we can skip a few steps here . Okay
01:43	. We don't really need to actually uh take away
01:46	four off this side as obviously as we do it
01:49	here . Pretty much all we do here is I
01:51	look at the often just look at the sign here
01:53	this positive for and I take it off the other
01:56	side and just get rid of it here . I'll
01:57	show you what I mean . Okay . Same question
02:01	. And we'll do it just a little bit faster
02:03	and then we'll go through a few other examples .
02:05	So so we had where is it ? We have
02:08	three X . Plus four equals two x . Plus
02:13	six . Okay , so I want to get the
02:16	two X . On this side just deposited two X
02:19	. I'm just going to take it off . Yeah
02:23	. Okay because I'm going to cancel it out there
02:24	. If I take it off here it's gonna cancel
02:26	it straight away . I want to put this four
02:27	over here so I'm gonna get rid of it there
02:30	and on this side I'm just going to take it
02:32	away . Do the opposite here . So what we're
02:35	going to end up with is three X . Ay
02:37	co two X . We end up with X .
02:40	and six take away four X equals two . Pretty
02:45	easy . Right ? All right I'll tell you what
02:48	we'll go through another example . Yeah . Okay so
02:53	so we had two X Plus one equals 4 x
03:01	. Take away Nine . Okay . So we're gonna
03:04	do that same thing . I'd like to get all
03:05	the exes on this side and all the other numbers
03:07	on this side so we'll do it like that .
03:09	Okay so I'm going to get rid of this four
03:12	X and get it on this side so to get
03:13	rid of it it's a positive at the moment I'm
03:16	going to take it away . I'm going to take
03:17	it off this side so minus four X . All
03:20	right , I want to put this one on this
03:22	side . It's a positive one at the moment .
03:24	I'm going to take it off both sides to take
03:26	off one . Okay , So two x take away
03:30	four x is -2x . Okay , be very careful
03:35	with that . Okay and -9 -1 is -10 .
03:41	Okay , so pretty much if we end up with
03:42	a minus in both of these we can multiply both
03:45	sides by -1 and get rid of them . So
03:49	We got a minus on both sides . I can
03:50	just get rid of this . Get rid of that
03:52	. Get rid of that . So two x equals
03:54	10 . This means X equals five . Okay ,
04:00	pretty easy . Right what about one last one of
04:02	these ? Did it did it did it did it
04:07	where are reached ? Okay . So X take away
04:12	three echoes for X man plus six . Okay .
04:21	So what about you give this a quick go pause
04:24	the video . So here you go . All right
04:27	, hopefully you've done that . Hopefully you've done really
04:29	well . Okay , so first off what we should
04:33	do is we're going to get rid of this four
04:35	exhale and I'm going to take it off this side
04:38	. I'm going to get rid of this three here
04:39	. Now you're gonna see this is a -3 .
04:41	So I'm gonna do the opposite of what it says
04:42	. I'm going to add it to both sides ,
04:44	I'm gonna add it over here . Okay ? Alright
04:48	X Take Away four X . Is going to be
04:54	-3x . Okay . And this equals 3.6 which is
04:59	nine . Okay , so pretty much we multiply both
05:03	sides by minus one . We're going to end up
05:05	with three X equals minus nine And therefore x equals
05:12	we divide both sides by three part of three .
05:15	So how'd you go , those type of questions ?
