00:00 Good day and welcome to the Tech Math channel .
00:02 What we're going to be having looked at in today's
00:04 video is a way of working out the greatest common
00:07 factor . A really fast way of doing it for
00:10 two numbers . You could use it for more numbers
00:11 . We'll go for two numbers for this video .
00:13 Okay . So , so the two numbers we're looking
00:16 at , we're 60 and 72 . The way that
00:20 we do this really , really quickly , really fast
00:23 as follows First off , you look at two numbers
00:27 are going to these . Okay . So you might
00:29 look and go , hey , two goes into this
00:30 . So I'm just gonna put two here And I'm
00:32 going to see how many times the two goes into
00:35 these numbers . Okay . So two goes into 6030
00:38 times and it goes into 70-36 times . Okay .
00:44 Next thing we do is we say . Okay ,
00:46 so is there any number that goes into both of
00:47 these ? Oh yeah , two does once again .
00:50 So he goes into this 1 15 times and it
00:54 goes into this 1 18 times . Okay . Is
00:57 there any number that goes into both of these ?
01:00 All right , three days three goes into this one
01:05 five times and it goes into this 16 times .
01:08 Now , is there any number that goes in both
01:10 of these ? You can say ? Yeah , one
01:11 does . But one won't reduce the number anymore .
01:14 So we've hit this stage where these we have a
01:16 couple of our numbers here where they can't be reduced
01:20 any more . So , we look at these three
01:22 numbers , the two the two and three , and
01:26 we multiply those together to get that greatest common factor
01:30 two times two is four times three . Our greatest
01:33 common factor is 12 . Pretty easy . Right ,
01:38 Okay , let's have a look at another one of
01:42 these . Okay , so say we want to work
01:44 out the greatest common factor . Uh Let's have a
01:46 look at What ? 72 And 108 . Okay .
01:56 You might even give this a go . So you
02:00 can look at these straight away and you could possibly
02:02 recognize that nine goes into both of these . Okay
02:05 , so you could be like , okay , nine
02:07 goes into this one . Okay . 9 8-72 and
02:12 12 times nine Is 100 night . Okay , so
02:17 let's hear . First number , we've got the next
02:20 ones . Is there any number that goes into both
02:21 of these ? Yeah . Okay . Four does four
02:23 goes in to this one Two times and it goes
02:27 into this 1 3 times . And is there any
02:30 numbers that go into both of these ? Hey ,
02:32 there's not . So we multiply these two numbers through
02:36 nine times four highest Highest common factor is 36 .
02:42 Anyway , don't you think of that video ? I
02:44 hope you like it . It's a fairly quick and
02:46 easy way of doing this without getting into messy factor
02:48 trees . I always find myself running into and getting
02:51 squashed up if I use these , so I find
02:52 this a lot . Need an easier method of doing
02:55 this anyway . Thank you for watching . We'll see
02:57 you next time . Bye .
