Beatrice was so excited. This was truly a special day for her. She looked down and saw that her cup was sparkling with clean and cold water. She couldn’t believe that it was real! She had never seen water like this before. Slowly, she took a sip and it tasted so fresh. Her mother had always told her about the importance of water.
Beatrice used to get water from a ditch her home. Also, they could walk for miles to reach other areas with water. The water wasn’t very clean in the stream. In fact, most of the time, the water had a putrid smell and was murky in color. Beatrice and her family knew it wasn’t acceptable but they didn’t have any choice. The water that they drank was unclean, making Beatrice feel sick often.

How would you explain the phrase "murky in color"?
