Kindergarten Applications Earlier So Families Receive Offers Sooner

New York Department of education is offering kindergarten application so families receive offer soon.chancellor Carmen Farina announced on October 08 2015 in order to make the application process easier for families will be able to apply to kindergarten. The advantage of earlier application process is it give families and students more time to learn about their new school and offer greater transparency around zoned wait lists, and help ensure a smoother transition from pre-K to kindergarten for our youngest learners.

Application open Between December 7 and January 15
Offers Sent to Families in Mid-March – a Month Earlier Than Previous Years

Application Process and Priority Structure Remains the Same
