There has always been a debate regarding whether screen time is beneficial or not. However, in today’s day and age, be it a 5-year-old kid or a 20-year-old, phones have become an essential aspect of every child. Parents were already exhausted with their kids using technology; now, with the Covid hit, it has become impossible for parents to divert their kids from iPads and electronic devices.

But we being an education technology company, really want to get around this conversation and understand how parents feel regarding screen time.

We got a chance to talk to one of our workbook customers- Anuradha Mohan, regarding the screen-time problem.

To our surprise, she explained screen time did not become a problem for her and the kids. She has been using the Lumos Summer Learning Headstart Workbook. Her kids are in love with the workbook. Covid hit did make her use the online part of our workbook, which was not the case before. She regrets not using it earlier. Covid hit made her realize it is them who can bring a stop to excessive screen usage. Using it for a limited time and using it fruitfully is the key for her. She makes sure that if the kids are on their electronic devices, they are there for a good reason.

Lumos Workbook does the job for her. Her kids are thrilled to see their overall progress after completing the practice questions in the workbook. It not only reduces their screen-time but keeps them focused and determined to work and grow. In addition, the challenging questions in the workbook keep them on their toes to learn and grab more.

The book is a mix of topics that are apt for test preparation.

Kids need to sit down and work on their own to keep themselves occupied, or else they will fall prey to the realms of keypads.

But kids being kids, it’s impossible to keep them away from their phones; she makes sure that 30% of the time spent is on surfing, the rest is on the Lumos online diagnostic test. The online aspect is a real deal for her. It not only gives her children extra support but provides them with much-needed practice to help them gain confidence & perform better in the new school year. In addition, she loves that the program comes with a personalized study plan to meet individual learning needs and address gaps in foundational standards.

She quoted, “Workbook practice + Online diagnostic test = Success.”
