Director of Sales

Full time 50000 – 80000 USD / year Base salary + Commission

Lumos Learning is an innovative publishing company that provides engaging Math and English Language Arts resources to students and educators in K-12. We are experiencing significant growth in our business as we diligently work toward our mission of helping improve student achievement on the state assessments.

We are looking for a dynamic goal-oriented sales leader to join our team to support our school customers. The successful candidate should have a proven track record in selling to organizations, leading sales teams, improving systems and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build relationships with public and charter school administrators through multiple touchpoints
  • Show how the company solutions would help school leaders improve student achievement in their district
  • Educate customers about product features, overcome objections and close deals
  • Provide mentorship, oversight and motivate a team of sales reps
  • Improve sales strategy, systems and processes working closely with the company management team
  • Proactively grow business with current customers through multiple techniques
  • Stay updated on currently offered products and competitor offerings and policy changes
  • Manage company booth at educational conferences and events
  • Speak at tradeshows and share insights about the industry trends and company products

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 or more years experience selling to organizations
  • Dynamic personality along with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to participate in customer meetings and trade shows
  • Successful track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Track record of coaching other team members
  • Excellent knowledge of sales processes, systems, and strategies
  • Prior experience selling educational resources to K12 schools would be a plus
  • Must be capable of providing hands-on leadership as well as make individual contributions
  • High level of skill using technology tools and articulating the value proposition through engaging stories
