About TNReady
TNReady will be replacing the TCAP assessment for the 2015-16 school year in Tennessee. It will be the improved Math and ELA TCAP test for grades 3 to 11. The TNReady TCAP focuses on providing more information on student progress toward college and career readiness.
TNReady is designed to assess students’ true understanding of concepts and problem-solving abilities.The new state standards were adopted by the Tennessee State Board of Education in 2010 for mathematics for grades K-8 and the first three high school courses (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Core Math 1, 2, and 3). In 2014, Tennessee adopted the new standards for the further courses in high school mathematics. Focus, coherence, and rigor are these three fundamental shifts that the standards represent.
