00:06 Okay , you are in the right place for learning
00:09 and adventure because in this video we're going to learn
00:12 all about elephants . Yeah , but first we want
00:17 to hear from some of you , seven year old
00:20 Rocco from the United Kingdom , watched our video on
00:22 action verbs and said , I liked the video and
00:25 got all my action verbs correct phenomenal job bronco .
00:29 That's great . We also heard from seven year old
00:34 christian from the state of Washington who had a joke
00:37 for us and said , where do birds invest their
00:39 money in the stork market ? It's a good one
00:43 . That's great . That was fun . Be sure
00:48 . And watch this video to the end to learn
00:50 how you two could be featured on one of our
00:53 videos . Well , as we mentioned earlier in this
00:59 video , we are learning about elephants . Okay ,
01:03 let's start here . What are elephants ? Well ,
01:08 elephants are huge mammals that have a long trunk and
01:12 big ears . Oh , look at this elephant .
01:16 Taking a walk through a field . We mentioned the
01:19 elephants are huge . And when we say they are
01:21 huge , we are not kidding . In fact ,
01:24 african elephants are the largest land animals in the world
01:29 . Okay . And you might be wondering just how
01:31 big are african elephants ? It's incredible . African elephants
01:38 can get as tall as 13 ft and can weigh
01:42 as many as £14,000. That is massive . Mhm .
01:51 So if anyone ever asks you , what is the
01:54 largest land animal in the world , you know what
01:57 to tell them ? Mm The African elephant , how
02:01 big can they get ? As many as 13 ft
02:04 tall and £14,000 in weight . So elephants are massive
02:09 and African elephants are so big , they are the
02:12 largest land animals in the world . Mhm , mm
02:17 . Okay , but where can you find elephants living
02:21 in the wild , Do you know ? Okay ,
02:27 why are we showing an elephant in a neighborhood ?
02:29 Okay , this is not the natural habitat of an
02:32 elephant . Okay . 11 neighborhoods . Where in the
02:36 world can you find wild elephants in their natural habitats
02:41 ? All right . We can work with this .
02:43 A world map . Now , let's look at the
02:45 world map to find out where elephants live in the
02:48 wild . Well , elephants live in the wild in
02:51 parts of Africa , South Asia and Southeast Asia .
02:56 Let's say those places again . And make sure you
02:58 look at where they are on the map , elephants
03:01 live in the wild in parts of Africa , South
03:04 Asia and Southeast Asia . This next fact is a
03:11 fact you're going to want to share with someone .
03:13 Okay , check this out . A group of elephants
03:18 is called a parade . Isn't that a neat name
03:21 for a group of elephants ? A group of elephants
03:24 is called , uh , uh , parade . Now
03:31 , if you ever see a parade of elephants ,
03:34 you're probably going to see baby elephants in the parade
03:38 . Do you happen to know what baby elephants are
03:41 called ? Yeah , baby elephants are called calves .
03:47 Can you say that word ? Cavs ? Baby elephants
03:51 are called calves . Now we are going to talk
03:57 about a very special part of an elephant's body called
04:01 the trunk . The long trunk of an elephant is
04:05 super helpful here . You can see an elephant using
04:08 its trunk to eat . That is how an elephant
04:11 brings food to its mouth using its trunk . An
04:14 elephant couldn't survive without its trunk . You see elephants
04:21 use their trunks to bring food and water to their
04:25 mouths . They also use their trunks to breathe and
04:28 to smell the trunk of an elephant . Not only
04:30 brings food and water to an elephant's mouth , but
04:33 it also functions as their nose . Elephants also use
04:37 their trunks to give themselves baths and more elephant trunks
04:41 are so important to the elephants . Speaking of baths
04:47 , elephants give themselves something called a dust bath .
04:51 Uh It might seem strange to us . Right .
04:53 Why would an elephant give itself a bath with dirt
04:57 ? But dust baths are a great way for elephants
05:00 to help their skin and to fight against nasty insects
05:04 called parasites . Isn't that awesome ? Mhm . For
05:10 an elephant taking a dust bath is a smart thing
05:13 to do , Which shouldn't be surprising because elephants are
05:17 incredibly smart . They are incredibly smart . In fact
05:23 , elephants have a larger brain than any other land
05:27 mammal . That's right and their brain can get as
05:31 big as £13.13 pounds . Imagine a £13 brain ,
05:39 wow ! Elephants are so smart and their brains are
05:42 so huge . Mm . That is why elephants are
05:49 famous for their incredible memory . Elephants have an amazing
05:54 memory . They can remember places other elephants , things
05:58 that happen to them . They can remember people .
06:01 They have an amazing memory . Next time you have
06:04 a test you could think , wow I wish that
06:07 I was an elephant . It was able to remember
06:09 so much so easily . But as people are ,
06:12 memory isn't as good . We've got to work really
06:15 hard for it . But elephants can remember incredibly well
06:20 . Okay it is time for our final elephant fact
06:24 and it has to do with what elephants eat .
06:28 And the fact is this elephants are herbivores . Now
06:32 what's a herbivore ? Mhm . Uh huh . Herbivores
06:37 are animals that just eat plants and that's what an
06:41 elephant is . An elephant is a her before .
06:44 An animal that just eats plants . They don't eat
06:47 meat . Do you like to eat plants ? Mhm
06:51 . Cool . Plants are tasty and healthy too .
06:59 Hey , what was your favorite elephant fact ? Yeah
07:03 . You would love to hear from , you share
07:05 below something that you learned in this video that you
07:08 enjoyed . We would love to hear from you .
07:13 Oh , elephants don't fight . Don't fight . You're
07:15 going to remember it . Your memory is so good
07:18 . Your brain gets as big as £13, you're gonna
07:21 remember it . Don't fight . Just get a log
07:24 elephants . You're cute enough to get along . Come
07:28 on , come on elephants . Okay , do you
07:38 remember the kids comments that were at the beginning of
07:41 this video ? Just by commenting , you can have
07:45 a chance to be in one of our videos too

08:07 reading them . This is the end . But don't
08:12 cry . You know , there's a circle in the
08:14 middle of the screen that's popping up . You can
