00:0-1 do you own a pet ? Or do you know
00:02 someone who does own a pet ? Pets are animals
00:05 that we take care of ? They are our friends
00:08 , and bring a lot of joy and love into
00:10 our lives . In this video , we are going
00:13 to learn some fascinating facts about pets , like dogs
00:17 , cats , fish , and more . It's gonna
00:19 be so fun . Now , we won't be able
00:23 to talk about every kind of pet . There are
00:25 so many different types of animals , Right . But
00:29 we will have a great time learning facts about a
00:31 handful of pets starting with dogs . All right ,
00:36 So what are dogs ? Dogs are domesticated mammals that
00:41 live all over the world and that were domesticated means
00:45 that are taking care of by people in fact ,
00:52 and this is pretty cool . Most historians believe that
00:55 dogs were the first animals to be domesticated . That's
00:59 right . The first animals to be domesticated And catch
01:05 this . In the United States alone . Almost 43
01:09 million households own at least one dog . Dogs are
01:13 so popular . Mhm . Dogs sure are popular ,
01:20 and maybe it's because there's so much fun or maybe
01:25 it's because they're so cute . Look at this dog
01:28 . Why is this dog's so cute and so sad
01:30 . What are you thinking about ? Little doggie ?
01:32 What are you thinking about ? Okay , we get
01:39 it . Dogs are popular and there are so many
01:41 reasons why there's super cool animals , but we gotta
01:44 go through more dog facts because we want you to
01:47 be an expert on dogs . Mhm . Now ,
01:53 if you are a dog expert , you have to
01:55 know this . There are over 150 types of dogs
02:00 . That's right , share that fact with someone today
02:03 , ask them if they know that there are over
02:05 150 types of dogs . These types of dogs can
02:10 look very different from one another . Some dogs are
02:17 huge , like the great Day , great danes can
02:21 get up to 30 inches tall and can weigh almost
02:25 £200 but don't let their size scare you . These
02:30 dogs are super friendly . They have been nicknamed gentle
02:34 giants . Other dogs are really small , like the
02:39 chihuahua . Okay , chihuahuas are usually between 6 to
02:43 9 inches tall . These are super small dogs .
02:47 Very very very small dogs . Especially compared to great
02:51 danes , right ? But even though they're small ,
02:53 they can have big personalities and make their presence knows
02:59 . Mhm . Some dogs have specific markings , like
03:03 the Dalmatian dalmatians are famous for their white coat and
03:07 black spots . And you'll find this interesting Dalmatian puppies
03:10 are white when they are born , but when they
03:13 are about four weeks old they're black spots appear looks
03:17 pretty cool . Okay let's move on and look at
03:22 some more interesting facts about dogs . Yeah . Uh
03:28 oh we've got a grumpy pug . Okay . I
03:30 know we didn't talk about pugs . Alright . But
03:33 there are over 150 types of dogs . We can't
03:38 talk about all of you . There isn't enough time
03:41 . Okay . There are over 150 types of dogs
03:44 pug . Okay . I don't care how grumpy you
03:46 look . Okay . All right . The pug is
03:52 a small dog with a really cute wrinkly face .
03:56 They are sweet , gentle dogs that are great around
04:00 kids . Mm . Mm Yeah . For good measure
04:05 . Here are three pugs standing together . Here is
04:08 the picture of the pug from earlier in the video
04:10 that seems to be thinking very deeply about something and
04:14 here is a picture of what a pug would look
04:16 like if it had wings and could fly . Okay
04:23 . Now , on to more dog facts because we
04:25 are not going to talk about any other types of
04:29 dogs , no matter how grumpy Q or persistent they
04:33 might be . Okay . All right . Okay .
04:41 We are ready for our next fat . Did you
04:43 know dogs see colors differently than we do ? It's
04:47 true . So fascinating . Dogs see colors differently than
04:51 we do believe it or not . People used to
04:56 think that dogs were completely colorblind . Scientists later discovered
05:01 that dogs can see colors . They just see them
05:04 as yellows , browns and blues , ba Oh ,
05:08 here , let's show you this is gonna be super
05:13 cool . So say there's this garden . Okay .
05:16 And this is the way we see it . We
05:18 see the reds and the greens and all of the
05:20 full colors . Well , this is what a dog
05:24 sees pretty different , isn't it ? Some of the
05:26 colors are missing the reds , right ? The greens
05:30 , it's mostly yellow spray rounds and blues . This
05:34 is the way a dog sees color . All right
05:41 . So we see more colors than dogs do .
05:44 But dogs have us beat with their sense of smell
05:47 . Dogs have a much better sense of smell than
05:51 we do . They have way more smell receptors in
05:53 their noses than we do . And the part of
05:56 their brain that figures out smells is larger than ours
06:02 . That means as this dog is sniffing this flower
06:07 , this dog is picking up smells and scents that
06:10 we would never even know were there . Now with
06:16 this next fact , we need your help . What
06:19 our baby dogs called . Do you know uh puppies
06:27 , great job there called puppies . Dogs are considered
06:31 puppies until they are one year old . Now ,
06:37 this is interesting . Did you know puppies are born
06:40 blind , deaf and without teeth . That means right
06:44 , when they're born they can't see , they can't
06:47 hear and they don't have any teeth , but they
06:50 don't stay that way for long and they grow fast
06:55 . Yeah . Okay . We have one final fact
06:59 for you . And this fact is a little bit
07:01 weird . Dogs only sweat from their paws . What
07:08 a random weird fact . They only sweat from their
07:13 paws . We sweat in many areas of our bodies
07:16 . But dogs only sweat from their paws because sweat
07:20 is not the main way that dogs cool down .
07:25 The main way A dog cools down is by panting
07:31 . Have you ever seen a dog pants before ?
07:33 Uh huh . That is the way a dog cools
07:39 down . That was great . Now let's talk about
07:43 a pet . You can see in our videos .
07:45 Cats . That's right . Cats , The kind of
07:50 cats we are learning about in this video are domesticated
07:54 cats . The cats that are in your home or
07:56 in your neighborhood , or often on the screen of
07:59 a home school pop video . Mhm . We aren't
08:04 talking about big cats like tigers , leopards and lions
08:08 , to name a few . As cool as those
08:10 cats are . This video is all about the small
08:14 domesticated cats we see day to day domesticated cats are
08:21 small mammals that are usually furry . That's right .
08:24 They're usually furry . Mhm . We say usually because
08:31 there is a type of cat that has no firm
08:34 . That's right . Spinks . Cats have no for
08:37 their skin is warm to the touch and they are
08:40 often on the lookout for warm sources because heat can
08:44 easily escape their bodies . Just a side note ,
08:49 don't confuse the Sphinx , a mythological creature that was
08:54 celebrated in ancient civilizations like Egypt and Greece with the
08:59 sphinx cat , the type of cat that doesn't have
09:02 for notice . The creature from mythology has the letter
09:07 I in the middle of it , while the sphinx
09:09 cat has the letter . Why in the middle of
09:12 it . Plus sphinx cats are real . The mythological
09:16 sphinx are pretend . So cats are small mammals with
09:24 fur . Except for sphinx cats . Of course The
09:29 next thing we're going to learn about cats is that
09:32 they sleep about 14 hours a day . That's right
09:36 . 14 hours a day . Oh sleepy kitty cats
09:45 love to sleep . It is helpful to them because
09:48 it allows them to save up energy for when they
09:51 need it . Playing . And hunting for small creatures
09:55 . Can take a lot out of you . Yeah
09:58 . Here is a baby cat . What our baby
10:02 cats called ? Do you know ? Yeah kittens .
10:08 Yeah this is a baby kitten . Yeah kittens sleep
10:12 even more than the average cat kitten sleep about 20
10:17 hours a day . That means kittens are only awake
10:21 four hours a day . That's it . But they
10:23 pack a lot of fun and excitement in those four
10:27 hours . Mm The next thing we are going to
10:33 learn about cats is that they have powerful night vision
10:38 . It is pretty amazing . Cats can see even
10:43 when there is very little light . They can see
10:46 much better in the dark than we as humans can
10:51 while they can't see if it is pitch dark .
10:53 They don't need much light at all to see what
10:56 is going on . That is part of why cats
10:59 can be such great hunters at night . If you
11:03 have a cat at home and you hear that cat
11:06 moving around at night , who knows what adventures your
11:09 cat is having in the darkness while you sleep .
11:16 Cats not only have great night vision , they also
11:19 can hear and smell better than we can . That's
11:23 right . All of these senses help cats when they
11:26 hunt or help cats discover fun things around them .
11:32 Yeah . The next thing we are going to learn
11:34 about cats is they lick their coats to keep themselves
11:38 clean . It's that interesting . They lick their coats
11:42 to keep themselves clean . Yeah . Being clean is
11:48 really important to cats . They can spend hours cleaning
11:52 themselves . We don't know exactly why cleanliness is so
11:56 important to cats , but it is . They want
11:59 to be as clean as possible . Their tongues are
12:05 rough . If you have ever been looked by a
12:07 cat , it can almost feel like sandpaper . Their
12:11 tongues are perfect for cleaning and keep cats looking their
12:16 best . Sometimes cats like to lick people . They
12:20 want us to be clean too . Yeah . The
12:25 final thing we want to learn about cats in this
12:28 video is when they live in the wild , they
12:30 are either feral or a stray . Barrel cats are
12:37 cats that live outside and haven't been a part of
12:40 someone's home pharaoh . Cats are not used to .
12:43 People . Usually barrel cats are cats that have always
12:46 lived outside . They are used to hunting and searching
12:50 for food . Mhm , stray cats are cats that
12:56 used to live in a home and either got away
12:58 in our lost or were abandoned . Stray cats have
13:03 been a part of a home and maybe more comfortable
13:06 going up to you than a feral cat . Make
13:09 sure not to scare the cat and feel free to
13:12 let a parent or guardian . No . Where you
13:15 found the cat and what the cat looks like .
13:17 There may be a home that is missing a cat
13:20 and maybe you could be a part of reuniting a
13:23 cat with its family . Well , those are the
13:29 facts about cats . These small mammals are usually furry
13:34 unless they are space cat , they sleep about 14
13:37 hours a day except for Kittens . Kittens can sleep
13:41 as many as 20 hours a day . They have
13:44 powerful night vision . That's pretty cool . They lick
13:48 their coats to keep themselves clean and they might clean
13:51 you that way too . And when they live in
13:53 the wild , they are either feral or a stray
13:58 . Wonderful . Next we are going to learn about
14:01 pets . You take care of that , love the
14:03 water . We will be learning about fish . Fish
14:09 are a type of animal that lives in the water
14:13 . Look at all these fish in the water ,
14:14 that's where they live , fish live in the water
14:19 . Now , that's not the only thing that makes
14:22 a fish of fish . While most animals in the
14:26 water are fish , not all of them are .
14:29 But how do you know if an animal in the
14:31 water is a fish or not a fish ? Well
14:33 , there are two major things that all fish have
14:37 in common . The first thing is that all fish
14:43 are vertebrates ? Do you know what a vertebrate is
14:47 A ? It's a good question . Yeah , vertebrates
14:53 are animals that have a spine . Like birds ,
14:57 reptiles , amphibians , mammals . And of course fish
15:07 . Fish are vertebrates , meaning all fish have a
15:11 spine . What are some invertebrates or animals without a
15:16 spine that live in the water ? How about the
15:22 octopus ? And octopus does not have a spine ?
15:26 Since an octopus does not have a spine , an
15:29 octopus is an invertebrate . That means an octopus is
15:37 not a fish . Sorry buddy , you are not
15:40 a fish . All fish have a spine . All
15:43 fish are vertebrates , but you are an invertebrate .
15:47 You are super cool , but you're just not a
15:50 fish . So vertebrates and invertebrates , vertebrates are animals
15:58 with a spine like fish . Invertebrates are animals without
16:03 a spine like this . Octopus , wow ! The
16:06 octopus looks really happy that he doesn't have a spine
16:10 . Of course if an animal doesn't have a spine
16:13 , that means it can't be a fish because all
16:16 fish have a spine . Look at this creature .
16:23 What is this ? Yeah , A jellyfish just like
16:28 the octopus , jellyfish are invertebrates to that means even
16:33 though they are animals that live in the water ,
16:36 jellyfish are not fish . Yeah . Mhm . Now
16:42 wait a second . You mean even though jellyfish have
16:45 fish in the name , they are not really fish
16:49 . That's right , jellyfish are not fish because they
16:52 do not have a spine . All fish have a
16:55 spine . So whoever named jellyfish was trying to trick
17:00 us but we are not gonna fall for it .
17:05 Now the second thing fish have in common is that
17:08 all fish use gills to breathe . That's right .
17:15 These are the gills of a tuna . They look
17:17 really interesting , don't they ? They are pretty cool
17:23 . Here is how they work . Gilles remove the
17:26 oxygen from water that enters the fish's mouth and releases
17:30 the water back out . Gilles work kind of like
17:35 our lungs do except instead of breathing air . Like
17:38 we do to get oxygen fish get their oxygen from
17:42 the water . Mhm Gills are very important to fish
17:48 . You see without gills , fish are not able
17:51 to live in the water . It's true , it
17:54 is the only way fish are able to get the
17:57 oxygen they need . Oh Clarence . You really are
18:04 a fish . You have a spine , which means
18:06 you are a vertebrate and you have gills , which
18:09 is how you breathe in the water . You have
18:12 to have both in order to be a fish .
18:18 Well , now that we know what makes a fish
18:21 a fish , let's look at more facts about these
18:23 incredible water animals like this . There are about 30,000
18:32 different types of fish . And scientists are discovering more
18:36 and more every single year , maybe one of you
18:40 will grow up and discover new types of fish that
18:43 we never knew existed . Wouldn't that be cool ?
18:49 Mhm . Fish come in all sizes and shapes and
18:53 have very different characteristics depending on the species . Think
18:57 of this ? A shark is a fish , wow
19:01 . Did you know that a shark is a fish
19:03 and a gold fish is a fish too . Fish
19:06 are a wide ranging animal family . But remember they
19:11 all have a spine and they all have gills .
19:15 And I like to think , you know , maybe
19:17 the goldfish and the shark could be friends . No
19:20 , no . Yeah , they , no , they
19:21 wouldn't be friends . They wouldn't be friends that goldfish
19:26 would be a sack . Hey , this is cool
19:30 . Just like amphibians and reptiles . Fish are cold
19:35 blooded , Huh ? What does cold blooded mean ?
19:39 Do you know what does cold blooded mean ? Yeah
19:46 , yeah . Cold blooded means their bodies do not
19:49 control their own temperature . The temperature of a fish
19:53 for example , is similar to its environment because a
19:57 fish is cold blooded . We're different . We are
20:01 warm blooded . So we don't know what that is
20:04 really like . But we do know that fish ,
20:07 amphibians and reptiles are all cold blooded . Their bodies
20:12 do not control their own temperature . Now . This
20:17 is kind of a sad fact . Did you know
20:20 , fish can feel pain and get stressed like we
20:24 do . Yeah , it's easy to think that fish
20:27 are always carefree . They just swim around all day
20:32 . But fish can feel pain and get stressed .
20:35 Just like us humans . Oh no carl , don't
20:43 get stressed out . Deep breathing carl , deep breathing
20:48 . that's right . Oh deep breathing . Hey ,
20:53 hey carl , you're not deep breathing , are you
20:56 ? Mhm Fish are fun to watch and take care
21:01 of even carl . Even carl , many people have
21:05 fish as pets . They get to watch these incredible
21:08 animals explore their own little waterworld each day . Next
21:15 we are going to learn about furry cuddly pets called
21:19 rabbits or bunny rabbits . You know , you could
21:21 call them both . We're going to get into that
21:24 . Rabbits are small mammals that are famous for their
21:28 long ears . Hey there little rabbit and you might
21:34 have already noticed this . But in addition to their
21:37 long years , rabbits have little tails that look like
21:41 buns . Do you see the little tail ? Uh
21:45 huh . Right here their tails look like buns .
21:50 Many people believe that is why rabbits are called buddies
21:57 because their little tails look like buns , it makes
22:00 sense . Which leads us to this question . What
22:06 do you call these animals ? You see some people
22:13 call all rabbits funnies . Other people just use the
22:16 regular name for them and call all of them rabbits
22:19 . And still other people call all rabbits bunny rabbits
22:24 . Kind of confusing . Then other people think of
22:30 all the young rabbits as bunnies . Oh my goodness
22:33 , so confusing . But at the end of the
22:34 day , the name bunny is just a nickname .
22:37 It's just a nickname , which is why people use
22:40 it in different ways way . So what do you
22:47 call them ? Let us know in the comments section
22:49 below . Are you team rabbit ? Are you team
22:51 bunny rabbit ? Are you team bunny ? Are you
22:54 team bunny ? Only when they're small ? Let us
22:57 know . All right , so we learned that rabbits
23:02 are mammals that have long ears and have small tails
23:06 that look like buns . Next we have a shocking
23:13 fact for you . We hope you're sitting down .
23:17 Did you know the main foods that rabbits eat ?
23:21 Our hay and grass ? Uh Hay and grass are
23:26 the most important parts of a diet for most rabbits
23:32 . Many people think that rabbits mainly eat carrots .
23:38 They do When most of us think of rabbit food
23:41 , we do think of carrots . Right . While
23:46 rabbits enjoy carrots , it isn't the main thing .
23:49 They eat . Rabbits have very sensitive stomachs . It
23:53 is so important for rabbits to fill up on hay
23:56 and grass . So carrots are great for rabbits as
23:59 a special treat , but not as the primary food
24:04 , rabbits enjoy many other vegetables and can even eat
24:07 fruit too , enjoying your lunch , bunny rabbits .
24:11 Yeah . To busy chewing to talk . Huh .
24:14 Pretty good grass . Right . Yeah , yummy ,
24:19 tasty . Mhm . Their diet , that means the
24:24 food they eat allows rabbits to live in many different
24:29 environments . In fact , did you know rabbits are
24:32 found all over the world in every continent except Antarctica
24:37 . Pretty cool . Huh . Now , wherever they
24:42 live in the world , rabbits have to be careful
24:44 . That is because rabbits are prey animals , prey
24:48 animals are animals that get hunted by other animals .
24:52 In other words around the world , rabbits are a
24:55 source of food . Too many different animals . That
25:02 is a big reason why they're large years are so
25:05 helpful . They're big years helped them listen to all
25:08 of the sounds around them so they could know if
25:11 they are in danger . They are always trying to
25:14 stay aware of what's going on . So they don't
25:17 become another animal's meal and it's not just their large
25:24 ears keeping them safe . They often sleep with their
25:27 eyes open just in case there's a creature sneaking up
25:31 on a bunny rabbit or trying to get it .
25:33 Can you imagine sleeping with your eyes open ? That
25:37 would be so weird . People would sleep without people
25:40 even knowing it . In fact , who knows if
25:42 this bunny is sleeping or is awake ? Maybe it's
25:45 sleeping ? Maybe not . What do you think this
25:49 bunny is definitely awake or is it okay now it
25:58 is rabbit trivia time . What do you call a
26:02 group of rabbits ? Actually , that sounds like a
26:05 joke . This isn't a joke . This is a
26:07 very serious question . What do you call a group
26:11 of rabbits ? Well , a group of rabbits is
26:16 called a colony . Look at that colony of rabbits
26:20 by the way , you have to share that with
26:22 . Someone tells someone today that a group of rabbits
26:25 is called a colony . That would be so cool
26:28 to share that fact with someone , A group of
26:29 rabbits is called a colony . Now in a colony
26:36 of rabbits , you may find a baby rabbit .
26:39 Baby rabbits are called kittens , just like baby cats
26:43 are called kittens . We use the same word .
26:46 This is definitely a mega cute kitten . Okay ,
26:50 baby rabbits are called kittens . Okay , here is
26:57 our final fact . It's another thing rabbits have in
27:00 common with cats . Did you know that rabbits per
27:08 when they are happy purring for rabbits is different than
27:11 purring for cats . When rabbits per they actually use
27:14 their teeth , they rub their teeth together to show
27:17 that they're happy . So it's very different but it
27:20 means the body's pretty happy . It's a happy bunny
27:23 rabbit . Yeah . The last pets we are going
27:26 to learn about our turtles . So cute and slow
27:32 turtles are cute animals that are famous for their protective
27:36 hard shells and they're slow movements . Hey , do
27:41 you already know what type of animal a turtle is
27:44 ? What type of animal is a turtle ? Uh
27:48 huh turtles are a type of animal called reptiles .
27:54 Turtles are reptiles , wow . So what does that
27:58 mean ? While here are a couple of things about
28:04 reptiles , they breathe air . They are cold blooded
28:08 and they are vertebrates meaning they have a backbone .
28:13 Uh huh , breathing air is easy to understand .
28:17 Right , can you take a breath right now right
28:20 now ? Yeah , you breathe air to just like
28:24 turtles and all of the other reptiles . Even sea
28:31 turtles breathe air . That's right . So fascinating .
28:34 This sea turtle is grabbing a quick breath of air
28:36 before going back in the water earlier . We also
28:43 mentioned that turtles and all of the other reptiles are
28:46 cold blooded . What does it mean to be cold
28:50 blooded ? Well being cold blooded means turtles don't keep
28:56 the temperature of their bodies the same . Their environment
28:59 changes the temperature of their bodies . Unlike turtles and
29:06 other reptiles , we are warm blooded . That means
29:09 our bodies warm themselves and keep our temperature about the
29:13 same all of the time . Even when we're out
29:15 in the cold , if you check the temperature of
29:20 a turtle , it can be all over the place
29:22 depending on where the turtle is because a turtle ,
29:25 just like all of the reptiles is cold blooded .
29:30 We also mentioned that just like other reptiles , turtles
29:35 are vertebrates , they have a backbone . Next time
29:38 you see a turtle smile at the turtle and say
29:41 , hey , I know you you are a vertebrate
29:44 . You have a backbone , which is cool .
29:47 Okay , Alright , turtle , can you , can
29:49 you hear me ? Turtle ? Turtle , If you
29:54 would like to learn more about reptiles , we have
29:56 a full video on it . You can check it
29:59 out after this video . All right , Time for
30:05 more turtle facts . We want to be experts on
30:08 turtles . Turtle masters , let's talk about this .
30:12 What do turtles eat ? Uh That's a good question
30:16 . Mhm . Well , that depends on the type
30:21 of turtle and what kind of food is around it
30:24 . Turtles spend their day looking for food . Mhm
30:29 . They can eat things like insects , Fish ,
30:32 worms are different kinds of plants because they eat both
30:36 meat and plants . Turtles are omnivores . Can you
30:40 say omnivores ? Uh turtles are omnivores . That means
30:46 they eat both plants and meat . It's interesting their
30:53 eating habits can actually change as they get older too
30:56 . Okay , when turtles are young to eat more
30:59 meat and older turtles tend to eat more plants .
31:03 Now , that's not always the case . Younger turtles
31:06 can eat plants to an older turtles can eat meat
31:10 , but their diet changes as they get older .
31:14 Mhm . Oh lupus . Here's a picture of a
31:17 turtle with a buddy . Well , at least you
31:20 would think these turtles are friends that their buddies .
31:23 Well , guess what ? They really aren't . They're
31:25 really not friends . Okay . Get ready for a
31:31 sad fact . Turtles don't usually interact with each other
31:38 . They're not very social animals and they don't interact
31:41 with other turtles . If they're in a group ,
31:43 they don't even acknowledge one another . They're just doing
31:46 their thing in this picture there eating together . They're
31:49 enjoying a meal and it would be like cool if
31:52 they were turtle friends if they were friends . But
31:55 turtles don't become friends with other turtles . Turtles don't
31:58 have turtle friends , they just do their own thing
32:03 . Mhm . But the good news is the turtle
32:06 can be friends with you . Some people have turtles
32:09 as pets . Do you know anyone with a pet
32:12 turtle ? Okay . All right . We are ready
32:18 for our next turtle fact . Did you know turtles
32:22 love the water and spend most of their time ?
32:25 They're all okay . This is actually the major difference
32:30 between turtles and tortoises . Turtles spend most of their
32:34 time in the water and tortoises spend most of their
32:38 time on land . Now sometimes people get these animals
32:41 confused because they look very similar and they're from the
32:44 same family , but they are different because of where
32:47 they spend most of their time . Turtles spend most
32:49 of their time in the water , tortoises spend most
32:52 of their time on land . Look at this amazing
32:58 sea turtle . All turtles spend most of their time
33:01 in the water , but none as much as sea
33:04 turtles . Sea turtles are all about the water .
33:08 But you know even sea turtles spend a little bit
33:10 of time on land . In fact female sea turtles
33:14 lay eggs on the shore and the baby sea turtles
33:17 make their way to the water once they hatch and
33:24 it's interesting baby turtles are called hatchlings . That's right
33:28 . Hatch legs , That's such a cute name .
33:31 And they look so cute . Hatchlings are so adorable
33:34 , but notice , you know , their mother is
33:36 not helping them . That's because turtles remember are not
33:40 social animals . Okay , they don't really interact with
33:43 one another that much . And so they're kind of
33:46 left on their own . That may be why turtles
33:49 don't celebrate Mother's Day . Their Mother's Day card would
33:54 just say dear mother , I hatched and did everything
33:59 on my own . Love baby turtle . Of course
34:04 no . Turtle video would be complete without sharing more
34:07 about that famous shell . The outer part of the
34:09 shells made of something called keratin , the same thing
34:13 . Your fingernails are made of , your fingernails are
34:15 made of the same thing as turtle shells . And
34:21 as you can see the shell is great for protection
34:24 . Turtles can hide their heads and their feet in
34:27 their shells . We hope you had a fun time
