00:0-1 | Welcome to the Tech Math channel . What are we
00:02 | having a look at in this video is how to
00:03 | multiply any number at all . Really , really fast
00:06 | . We're going to go up to three digits ,
00:07 | but this could be expanded our , you know ,
00:09 | to basically any type of number one , even ridiculously
00:12 | big ones . So I'm going to give you a
00:15 | question to start off with and I'm going to go
00:16 | over the pattern , which I've been looking at in
00:18 | other videos on how to do it . By the
00:20 | way . If you haven't seen my other videos ,
00:21 | I recommend . It's probably a big hand if you
00:23 | wish to get onto this one to go through a
00:25 | couple of those first , but you don't necessarily need
00:27 | , it depends how quick you are on the uptake
00:29 | . Anyway . The question I'm going to give you
00:30 | is this one 102 times 231 and I'll give you
00:39 | , I reckon about five seconds to do that .
00:41 | Ready set go . Mhm . Yeah . All right
00:46 | . Now , have you got the answer of 23,562
00:51 | . Really , really well done . If not ,
00:53 | I'll just go through really really quickly how to do
00:55 | these . So I joined some dots up on the
00:59 | right of the screen here just to go through and
01:01 | show you the pattern which I'll be using . Only
01:03 | use this pattern again and again . For the first
01:04 | thing I did was to get my answer is I
01:07 | went two times one so I multiplied these two numbers
01:09 | here and I got the answer to . Okay .
01:14 | The very next thing I did is I'll get rid
01:17 | of that . The next thing I did is I
01:19 | multiplied one times nothing and three times too . So
01:22 | I multiplied these two numbers . Okay ? And so
01:27 | one times nothing is nothing , three times two is
01:29 | six . So I'll put that answer down . Okay
01:33 | I'll get rid of that particular one . I'll get
01:35 | on to the next number . I went one times
01:38 | 12 times two and three times nothing . So this
01:42 | one looks like this . Okay , so one times
01:47 | one is 12 times two is 43 times nothing is
01:50 | nothing at all these together . I get the answer
01:53 | . five . Alright . We're halfway through the next
02:00 | question . I did the next part of my question
02:03 | . I did . Now I only want to multiply
02:05 | these two numbers , so Nothing Times 2 , 3
02:09 | times one , nothing plus three gives me three .
02:14 | And then last of all that leaves me with the
02:17 | very last number and the two numbers which I multiply
02:20 | these two . Okay , so two times one and
02:23 | the answer is to there's my answer 23,562 . So
02:29 | hopefully you see this pattern here . Okay . Where
02:31 | we start off and we multiply these numbers and we're
02:33 | working with these numbers and we're working with all three
02:36 | . Now , we've sort of moved over this side
02:38 | and then we moved on to these two numbers ,
02:39 | it's sort of like , I guess almost looks like
02:41 | going up and over a hill or something like this
02:43 | . Okay , you're shifting across . Hopefully you see
02:47 | this this pattern . Okay . It's a really ,
02:49 | really handy pattern when you can do it good on
02:51 | you , you should be able to do lots and
02:53 | lots of questions because it leads us on to the
02:54 | next type of questions which I put on now .
02:57 | Okay , so 306 Times 24 now , what you're
03:01 | going to notice straight away ? It's really , really
03:03 | hard to stick to these particular patterns here , because
03:06 | all of a sudden we're not dealing with three versus
03:08 | three things . Okay , this is but you can
03:12 | make it do that and that's very very simple trick
03:14 | behind doing it . Put Make this number here .
03:18 | zero , look at that straight away . You can
03:20 | do the same pattern . So let's do these numbers
03:23 | 1st 64 24 . So we put the four down
03:26 | , carry the two For nothing is nothing . 6
03:29 | to 12 plus two Is another 4 . 14 carry
03:34 | the one three times 44 times three is 12 .
03:38 | 6 times nothing is nothing . Two times nothing is
03:40 | nothing for 12 plus this one here , 13 carry
03:45 | the 13 to 6 . Nothing times nothing . Okay
03:49 | , It's a six plus this one here , Seven
03:51 | and then three times nothing . There's nothing . I
03:53 | won't bother put that in there is there answers 7344
03:59 | . So that's how you do this little trick .
04:00 | Pretty cool . Right . You can do this with
04:03 | any type of numbers . You can do this with
04:04 | four digit numbers , five digit numbers . The possibilities
04:08 | are endless . There's just a little and the answer
04:10 | is a little trick you're using . Okay . Hopefully
04:13 | you get that . If you have any questions at
04:15 | all with this , please let us know . Okay
04:18 | . Thanks for that . See you next time . |
