| 00:16 | as a basic way of subtracting one number from another | |
| 00:19 | number . So before I start getting lots of comments | |
| 00:22 | , I learned how to do this in school . | |
| 00:23 | This is designed for guys who are probably going to | |
| 00:25 | school and still learning how to do it . Or | |
| 00:26 | maybe you didn't learn how to do it . So | |
| 00:29 | This is okay . Anyway , so it was to | |
| 00:32 | get you to take off a number from another number | |
| 00:34 | . We'll do , we'll get some big numbers going | |
| 00:36 | 165 take away 24 . So the way that we | |
| 00:44 | do these sort of numbers , when we start getting | |
| 00:45 | the biggest sort of numbers is , well , first | |
| 00:48 | off , we write them a little bit differently from | |
| 00:50 | this , we write it uh so one numbers above | |
| 00:54 | the other number . So the first time we write | |
| 00:55 | down the number we're taking the thing away from . | |
| 00:58 | Okay , usually it's going to be the first number | |
| 00:59 | . It's going to be the first number on this | |
| 01:01 | side . 165 . And then we write this 24 | |
| 01:04 | . So the units of the 24 lineup , the | |
| 01:07 | tens of this lineup . So I'll show what I | |
| 01:08 | mean . 20 four . Okay , you see what | |
| 01:12 | I mean ? They're the units lineup . Okay ? | |
| 01:14 | And the 10s lineup . So I put a line | |
| 01:18 | underneath and then I start Answering from right from the | |

| 01:30 | , the answer is one . Then we get along | |
| 01:32 | to the next to the tens . Six take away | |
| 01:34 | too . Yeah , there was four . Mhm . | |

| 01:40 | is one and that's our answer . Okay , did | |

| 01:55 | get something which is 257 Take away 38 . All | |

| 02:06 | once again we write it . So the 257 we | |
| 02:11 | put the 30 eight here . Take it away . | |

| 02:20 | Yeah . Seven take away . Wait a second . | |
| 02:24 | What is seven take away eight . And you might | |
| 02:26 | think wait a second . I can't take 77 smaller | |

| 02:31 | right you can't take it away straight away . You | |
| 02:33 | don't get a bit of extra numbers over here . | |
| 02:36 | So you have the borison numbers . So what we | |
| 02:37 | do is we look over to this next number here | |
| 02:41 | to the left of the seven and we take one | |
| 02:43 | of the numbers off that . So we take one | |
| 02:45 | of the numbers off the five . We end up | |
| 02:47 | with A four . And what we're doing is we're | |
| 02:51 | taking a bunch of tens there so we end up | |
| 02:53 | with the one over here . Okay So now we | |
| 02:56 | had 17 take away its 17 take away eight is | |
| 03:03 | nine four Take Away through Is 1 to take away | |
| 03:09 | nothing . It's too yes sir . 219 . I'll | |
| 03:15 | go through one more of those . Mhm . All | |
| 03:21 | right so what I'm gonna do I'm not even gonna | |
| 03:24 | bother right then . Um across ways I just right | |
| 03:26 | straight down uh 1,056 take away 727 yeah . Mhm | |
| 03:39 | . Okay so six Take away seven we can't do | |
| 03:42 | okay so I'll have to borrow one from over here | |
| 03:44 | so five take away one is four and we're going | |
| 03:46 | to move that one there . 16 take away seven | |
| 03:50 | . The answer is nine four take away to the | |
| 03:53 | answer is 20 Take away seven . We can't do | |
| 03:56 | so we have to take one off here . It's | |
| 03:58 | going to leave me with nothing , I'll move that | |
| 04:00 | over there . So 10 take Away seven is three | |
| 04:03 | and now I have nothing here so nothing take away | |
| 04:06 | nothing . The answer is 329 . I put up | |
| 04:09 | a couple of questions in a second , see how | |
| 04:12 | you go answering them . The answers come about 56 | |
| 04:14 | seconds later . So you might just want to pause | |
| 04:16 | it . When you see the questions come give it | |
| 04:18 | to you , go yourself and see how you want | |
