00:0-1 today in this video we're going to be having a
00:01 look at his cubic numbers and cube roots . And
00:04 these are pretty simple . So let's just get straight
00:06 into it . So a cube number is a number
00:08 that is multiplied by itself . Three times . I'll
00:11 give you an example here . So we could write
00:13 five cubed as follows with right five to the power
00:18 of 35 multiplied by itself three times . This means
00:21 five times five Times five . And we call this
00:26 a cubic number because if you were to draw a
00:29 cube and the side length was five , The way
00:32 that we would work at the volume of this Cube
00:34 is we would go the length times the width times
00:37 height , five times five times five , which is
00:42 equal to 125 . So what about the cube root
00:47 ? What does that mean ? The cuba is pretty
00:49 simple . The cube root is just the opposite of
00:52 the cube . So what we could do with a
00:55 series of numbers here , we could say , okay
00:57 , what is the cube root of 125 ? And
01:00 would write this as follows , 100 and 25 And
01:03 would use its same particular symbol for square . But
01:06 we put a three here as well now to show
01:08 that it's a cube root . So what number do
01:10 we multiply by itself three times to get 125 .
01:15 And as we see here , the answer is five
01:18 . All right , pretty simple . Right . What
01:20 about we go through one more example . Okay .
01:23 What about what is two cubed ? So this means
01:27 two times two times two to multiply by itself .
01:31 Three times two times two is four times two is
01:35 equal to eight . And you know what I'm gonna
01:37 ask you next . I'm going to say , okay
01:39 , what is The Cube Root of 8 ? So
01:43 what number do we multiply by 8 to get ?
01:45 So what number do we multiply three times to get
01:48 eight ? Well , we know the answer to this
01:50 is to So the cube root of eight is equal
01:53 to two anyway . Nice , simple idea . Hope
01:56 that video was of some help . We'll see you
01:58 next time . Bye .
