00:0-1 | Good day , how fast can you solve this question
00:02 | ? Three quarters of 15 , you've got five seconds
00:05 | go , time's up . If you've got the answer
00:12 | of 11 and a quarter , congratulations , you got
00:15 | the right answer . If not , I'm going to
00:17 | show you right now . How'd it work out these
00:20 | questions instantly and easily ? So I'm gonna start out
00:23 | with an easier type of question here and I'll get
00:25 | back to my three quarters of 15 . So if
00:28 | for instance , I was going to work out a
00:30 | fraction of a number , it's fairly simple , I'm
00:32 | going to use an easy example , say I was
00:33 | working out three quarters of 12 . Now the way
00:36 | to do this is fairly simple . Three quarters of
00:39 | 12 , a quarter of 12 , well that's going
00:41 | to be 12 divided by 4 , 12 divided by
00:43 | four is equal to three . Then what I do
00:46 | is I say one quarter of 12 is equal to
00:48 | three or three quarters of 12 is going to be
00:51 | three times as much three times three we would have
00:54 | an answer of 93 quarters of 12 is equal to
00:58 | nine when you're doing this , however , it doesn't
01:01 | matter whether you do the division first or the multiplication
01:04 | or the multiplication first , then the division , we
01:06 | could have easily said 12 times three is 36 divided
01:09 | by four is equal to nine . And that's precisely
01:12 | what we're going to do for some of these questions
01:14 | , especially where you have a remainder in that first
01:16 | step otherwise , so let's get back to our initial
01:20 | example . If you were doing the following three quarters
01:24 | of 15 , how would I go through and do
01:27 | this ? Well , the first off , if I
01:28 | go 15 divided by four , I can see straight
01:31 | away , I'm going to get a number with a
01:33 | remainder 15 divided by four is equal to 334 to
01:36 | 12 , but it leaves me three left over ,
01:38 | so it's three and three quarters and I'm going to
01:39 | multiply by three , it's me , Nikki , so
01:42 | what I'm gonna do first instead is I'm going to
01:44 | multiply by 3 , 15 times three is 45 45
01:49 | divided by four . Well , that's not so bad
01:52 | . 45 divided by four . We get our answer
01:54 | . 45 divided by four , is 11 , 11
01:56 | , fours of 44 we have one left over ,
01:59 | we put that over our denominator here And we get
02:03 | 11.5 and that's how easy these are to work out
02:07 | . So What about I give you a couple of
02:10 | these that you can practice by yourself now remember ,
02:13 | you may do the division part of the fraction first
02:15 | or the multiplication part first , depending on what's easiest
02:19 | for you . So the following questions you are going
02:22 | to get , what about we start out with 4/5
02:25 | of 45 . Well then move on to 2/3 of
02:30 | 23 And then last of all we will get to
02:35 | 3/8 of 27 . So what about your pause the
02:40 | video and give these ago . And by the way
02:42 | , if you like this trick and maybe you currently
02:43 | use it . Don't just eyeball the like button ,
02:46 | push down hard and declare your love for the tech

02:50 | let's get to our answers . The first question 4/5
02:54 | of 45 . Now , if this number on the
02:57 | bottom goes into the number we have here easily ,
02:59 | I tend to divide first , so 45 divided by
03:02 | five , Nice and easy . 45 divided by five
03:06 | is equal to nine . The top number here is
03:08 | a multiplication number nine times four we have our answer
03:12 | which is 36 . Now the next one we have
03:16 | pretty simple 23 . Now look three doesn't go into
03:20 | that very nicely . So what I'm going to do
03:22 | first is I'm going to do the multiplication part .
03:24 | 1st 23 times two is equal to 46 . And
03:29 | then I'm going to divide by 3 46 divided by
03:32 | three . Hey , that's not too hard because three
03:34 | times 15 is 45 And we have one left over
03:38 | . That's one over this bottom number here . 1
03:41 | 3rd are answer 15 and a third to our last
03:45 | question 3/8 of 27 . That doesn't go into 27
03:49 | . Very well . So once again I'm going to
03:51 | multiply first . What is 27 times three ? Ok
03:55 | , It's not too bad a question 27 times three
03:57 | is 81 I'm going to divide that by eight .
04:00 | Which is a simple question 81 divided by eight .
04:03 | Well , 10 , 8 to 80 And we have
04:06 | one left over , we get our answer 10 and
04:09 | one over . We use that bottom denominator . They're
04:13 | done and dusted anyway . That's all for this video
04:16 | fractions . You're now part of the three out of
04:18 | two people who understand them really well and you want
