00:24	Idaho is where it is . So in case you

00:30	now . Where is the state of Idaho , do
00:33	you know ? Yeah , Idaho is right here on
00:40	the United States map . Idaho is in a region
00:44	of the United States called the Northwest . Idaho is
00:49	in the northwestern region of the United States . Cool
00:57	. Now we're gonna take a little bit of time
00:59	and look at everything that borders . The state of
01:02	Idaho first bordering Idaho to the north is the country
01:08	of Canada . That's right . The country of Canada
01:12	. Canada is the country that's right above the United
01:16	States and it borders Idaho to the north . Then
01:23	there are six states that border Idaho to , to
01:26	the east , to to the south and to to
01:29	the west , bordering Idaho to the east are the
01:34	states of Montana and Wyoming , then bordering Idaho to
01:41	the south are the states of Utah and Nevada .

01:51	the west are Oregon and Washington . Mhm . Hey

02:04	main nicknames of the State of Idaho . To learn
02:07	even more about this state , you the first nickname
02:13	of Idaho is the land of famous potatoes . The
02:17	second nickname of Idaho is the gem state . Yeah
02:24	. First , why is Idaho called the land of
02:27	famous potatoes ? That's a good question . Is it
02:33	because two famous potatoes live there ? Hi carol and
02:36	ted , it's actually because Idaho is famous for the
02:43	potatoes that they grow , they grow so many and
02:46	their potatoes are famous for being delicious . Idaho grows
02:53	a lot of potatoes , a lot of potatoes .
02:57	In fact , one third of all the potatoes grown
03:00	in the United States are grown in Idaho , that's

03:35	potatoes and you could see how delicious they are for
03:38	yourself . That's what so Idaho is called . The
03:43	land of famous potatoes . And Idaho is also called
03:46	the gem state . Idaho is called the gem state
03:52	because almost every precious gem is in the state of
03:57	Idaho , including a gem called the star Garnet which
04:00	is very rare . It's found only in Idaho and
04:04	in India Idaho is a state that is full of
04:10	natural resources . You know the potatoes and the gems
04:13	, the land of famous potatoes . The gem state
04:16	wow ! So many cool natural resources in Idaho .
04:23	Next we are looking at the state flag Yeah ,
04:26	the flag of the state of Idaho . It's a
04:30	cool looking flag is and it's a blue flag with
04:33	the state seal in the middle . The state seal
04:39	features two people , a minor and a woman who
04:43	represents liberty , equality and justice . The symbols in
04:49	the state seal represents the natural resources in Idaho ,
04:54	the forests , the minds , the farmland and the
04:57	wildlife . Above the two people are the words esto
05:03	perpetua , which is a spanish model that means it
05:07	is forever . Cool . Now we are going to
05:13	locate two important places on the map of Idaho .
05:17	The first place is the city of Boise , Boise
05:20	is the capital and largest city in Idaho , right
05:27	? Yeah . Then a little further north into the
05:30	east is a place called Borah Peak . For a
05:33	peak is one of the most famous peaks in the
05:36	continental United States . Okay , here is our final
05:42	question . What is the state bird of Idaho ?
05:49	The state bird of Idaho is the mountain bluebirds .
05:52	These incredible blue birds . They got light under Belize
05:56	and black eyes . These medium sized birds love to
06:02	eat spiders and grasshoppers and flies and other really cool
06:07	insects and they have a call . That's very interesting
06:11	. They say church . Sure , yeah , Chirchir
06:15	. That's what the mountain bluebird says . They say
06:18	Chirchir and they eat spiders . The mountain bluebird .
