For the trapezium given below, show that the area is given by , where a and b are lengths of parallel sides (bases) and h is the height (perpendicular distance between the two parallel sides) by adding the areas of the two triangles ADE and BFC and area of the rectangle ABFE. In the trapezoid ABCD, AB || DC, AE and BF are perpendicular to DC, AB = a, DC = b. and AE = BF = h.
