Contractions are made by joining two words into one word and leaving out a letter. You put an ‘ in place of the missing letter to make the contraction. Some kinds of contractions combine a word with the word “are”. The letter “a” is then left out and the ‘put in. Some kinds combine a word with the word “is”. The letter “i” is left out and the ‘ put in. Read the first word and second word in each row and write contractions in the contraction column.
