Mr. and Mrs. Murray used to travel by bus every Friday from their home in Southtown to visit Mr. Murray’s parents who lived in Westhall. One morning last February, they boarded the bus, as usual, at the end of Park Road. They had hardly settled into their seats to enjoy the familiar trip when Mrs. Murray’s attention was drawn to a man in a dark suit who was sitting in front of them. He seemed to be a strange man; he was unable to sit still and he was constantly turning around in his seat to stare at the other passengers.

When the bus stopped at the Odeon Theater, all of a sudden, the man stood up and brandished a gun. Mrs. Murray, who was well over sixty, was very alarmed. The conductor rushed forward but the gunman waved to him to sit down. Mrs. Murray became all the more alarmed when the gunman pointed the gun straight at her and shouted to the conductor in broken English: "Tell the driver. Go straight to Holy Caves. If he not do what I say, tell him I shoot this lady!" Mrs. Murray fainted.
