The Challenges
As did everyone across the nation, Maynard Elementary School also faced challenges related to the COVID pandemic and other related issues. David Byers, Principal at Maynard Elementary list down the challenges that the school faced as follows;

During the interview, the principal candidly acknowledged that the most significant impact of the pandemic on his school and students was the loss of critical instructional and learning time. Students experienced extended periods without formal education for several months, which inevitably had a detrimental effect on their proficiency levels, as clearly evidenced by their year-end state assessment results.
Challenge #2: Student motivation dropped due to pandemic
They were looking to provide intervention to students through materials which are both educational and informative, but also fun and enjoyable.
