BLENDED AND PERSONALIZED LEARNING PRACTICES AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL: ONE SIZE NO LONGER FITS ALL

We will share research from two case studies at two middle schools. We will discuss the attributes of blended and personalized learning practices, how they impact teaching and learning at the classroom level and share early research about further implications for the implementation of blended and personalized learning. This session will focus on the following: 1. Sharing early research results from two case studies 2. Describing how teachers are enacting blended and personalized learning practices at the classroom level 3. Providing an opportunity for participants to create their own personalized learning teacher profile as a takeaway tool.Participants will reflect on their personalized learning practices and create their own research and evidence-based personalized learning profile, as well as take away a current snapshot of the emerging lexicon. Researchers will provide a research and evidence-based lens with which to view classroom practices with a focus on the areas of teacher instructional practice, learning goals, and the roles and relationships between the teacher, students and the use of technology.
