Tips to boost up teachers mental health

In every plane journey, adults are advised to use their oxygen masks during an emergency before fitting them for their children because that helps them take care of their kids more effectively. According to a recent survey by NASUWT, about 67% of teachers are affected mentally and physically due to heavy workload.

Here are some tips to boost mental health in teaching staff:

Teachers should stay connected with family and friends. They also should try to make new connections. The Mental Health Foundation states that “people who are more socially connected to family, friends and their communities are happier, physically healthier and live longer, with fewer mental health problems.”

We live in the world surrounded by many distractions, and it is advisable to live in the present than thinking of the past and looking to the future. Learning is very much essential for our mental well-being. Learning something new, especially something out of our comfort zone, will boost our self-confidence and develop our knowledge. We should be physically fit to overcome mental stresses. Physical exercises help freshen up the mood, deal with stress and improve self-esteem.

Like the famous saying, “It is better to give than receive”, giving will bring us a warm glow and smile to our face and heart. Giving doesn’t always mean donating money or contributing your time, it can be a small kind gesture that will go on to make a bigger impact.

Connecting with others, learning, giving, being physically active and improving awareness are some of the best strategies that support one’s mental well-being.
