New Madrid School District Adopts Lumos SkillBuilder + MAP Practice Program

The New Madrid School District has adopted Lumos Learning’s SkillBuilder + MAP Practice for use in all classrooms across the district for 2016-17 school year.

Lumos SkillBuilder StepUp emphasizes mastery of the standards and provides realistic standardized assessment practice. It pinpoints student needs down to the sub-skill level and helps teachers build a combination of a variety of resources that are unique to each student’s proficiency level.

“My initial reaction to the materials described on the site was that they seemed to address the needs and concerns of the teachers in my district. The materials looked to be exactly the thing we needed.”, said Mrs. Kathleen Hampton, Instructional Coach for the district.

Mrs. Hampton shares, “With facing severe budgets cuts, there was little hope we could have the program beyond the free trial. I explained our situation to Mr. Jeremy Brunton of Lumos Learning, I was able to tell him how much the teachers were impressed with the material. The company’s willingness to work within the confines of a district’s needs and resources offers the greatest benefit for students. As educators, that is what we want from our vendors, to know that we all have a stake in the success of our students, I would encourage any school or district to explore Lumos Learning as a way to enhance student learning and performance. There are many good products on the market, but in my opinion, Lumos Learning offers one of the best.”

Proven Methodology

Lumos Learning study programs have been successfully implemented by more than 400 schools since. More than 75000 students and 7000 educators have been using the program to improve test scores. Harrison school.
