Domain: Grade 3 >> Operations & Algebraic Thinking

Sample Question: Which multiplication sentences relate to 63 ÷ 9= 7? Note that more than one option may be correct.

  1. 9 x 7= 63
  2. 9 x 8= 72
  3. 7 x 9= 63
  4. 7 x 7= 49

Answer Explanation: Multiplication and division can be related to one another in the sense that if a x b= c then c ÷ b= a or c ÷ a= b. Therefore, both 7 x 9= 63 and 9 x 7= 63 relate to 63 ÷ 9= 7.
