Playing on a Team

Mike and Tim wanted to play on a soccer team. They had not played on a team before. The boys had played soccer together. They joined a team.
“Wow, this is going to be fun for us!” exclaimed Tim.
“I am a bit scared.” replied Mike.
“Hey, you play well.” Tim said.
“Yeah, but the other guys might be better than me,” said Mike.
Mike was worried. He wanted to be on a team, but he didn’t want to make mistakes. He was afraid the other team members would make fun of him.
Tim told him, “Don’t worry, just make it like they are all me. It’ll be fine. You wait and see. Let’s go to practice!”
The boys got to the field. They met the other players. The boys were all nice to them. No one was any better than Mike and Tim. Practice was fun.
“Told ya’ so!” Tim yelled as they ran home.
“You were right! I’m not scared anymore!” Mike replied.
