Successfully Reaching Kids with Autism Through Distance Learning

When: December 3, 2020

Where: Virtual

About the webinar

Teaching children with autism during normal times is often a challenging endeavor. As the need becomes more prevalent for virtual learning, a greater challenge arises to meet the needs of this very special population. It is imperative that families, educators, and therapists work together to create effective programming to allow for students with autism to engage, participate, and achieve within an online setting.

In this edWebinar, veteran educator Heidi Pitlor will define the necessary components to create an effective online program. She will explain the importance of collaboration and emphasize the significance of each team member’s role in creating a successful distance learning program. She will demonstrate ways to differentiate materials and offer practical advice and resources, which will assist with the implementation of lessons in all settings.

Participants will learn strategies to utilize during student programming. Additionally, participants will receive helpful resources to strengthen their current learning strategies. Whether virtual or hybrid, attendees are certain to leave with strategies for both at home and within the school environment.

This edWebinar will be of interest to preK-12 teachers, school and district leaders, therapists, and aides.
