AASA Leader To Leader: Promoting Equity and Inclusion

When: January 20, 2021

Where: Virtual

About the webinar

It is essential but insufficient to insist that all students are included in opportunities for learning. We must ensure all students have access and opportunities for learning at high levels if we are to make up for learning loss caused by the pandemic and help our students get back on track for success. We are learning from the racial unrest in our country that equitable practices must be explicit and clearly articulated so that all children have hope for their futures.

Join educational thought leaders, Superintendents Dr. Gustavo Balderas of Edmonds, WA and Dr. Avis Williams of Selma, AL, as they explore with audience members how they champion learning for Latino and African-American youth, with intentionality, using purpose-driven strategies, in their districts. AASA President-elect Dr. Paul Imhoff will share how a equity agenda empowers all children, even when the community is not very diverse. Moderator Dr. Kristi Wilson, president of AASA, will share her strategies in her district in suburban Phoenix, AZ.

This webinar is organized by The American Association of School Administrators (AASA). The American Association of School Administrators (AASA), founded in 1865, is the professional organization for more than 14,000 educational leaders across the United States.[1] AASA's members are chief executive officers and senior-level administrators from school districts in every region of the country, in rural, urban, and suburban settings. AASA's mission is to support and develop effective school system leaders who are dedicated to the highest quality public education for all children
