11:56 homework . You have two things for homework and track

12:03 here every day . So you have two things do
12:06 Tuesday binder and letter . The first thing is the
12:10 binder , I'm gonna explain the binder right now .
12:13 The binders should look like this . It should be
12:15 a 1.5 binder and it does not have to have
12:20 this little clear plastic thing . Although those are cool
12:23 , it does not have to have it . And
12:25 on the inside it needs to have these things and
12:27 these things by the way are right here . It
12:30 needs to have a pencil pouch . This funky thing
12:33 is called a pencil pouch . Then it needs to
12:35 have five dividers and these dividers should be called notes
12:39 . Vocab and roots , grammar writing and be hag
12:43 tests and trackers . I'll explain what the hague is
12:46 later . Then it should have 100 pieces of loose
12:50 leaf paper . I'll bet some of you in your
12:52 heads right now are thinking can I share this binder
12:54 with another class ? The only other class you can
12:56 share it with his speech and composition with . MS
12:59 lack another thing some of you are thinking right now
13:04 is Um already got new shoes . I got this
13:07 new jacket which is so fly but I've already spent
13:10 a lot of money recently . So if you can't
13:12 afford to buy a binder , these are actually pretty
13:14 expensive . These like seven or 8 bucks and all
13:17 the stuff that goes on the inside . Your job
13:19 is to come talk to me . I bought a
13:21 lot of binders . I bought a lot of supplies
13:23 which I will give to you with no questions asked
13:27 if you can't afford it but you have to come
13:29 and talk to me about it . It is not
13:31 a big deal already . Bottom all there in the
13:33 back corner and I'll give them to you . You
13:35 need to talk to me after class or after school
13:37 and get the binder . Now let me be really

31:05 few things about me I've taught in various cities before
31:09 , one city where I taught is san Francisco ,
31:12 I didn't even say this , but you guys are
31:13 all doing this . I need silent tracking of me
31:16 or the projector screen . So you guys are meeting
31:18 that expectation . I also taught in inglewood California which
31:22 is in la . I also taught in Newark New
31:26 Jersey , which is on the other side of the
31:28 country . I taught in the city called Pasadena in
31:31 southern California , which is right near L . A
31:33 . And now I teach in Richmond as you all
31:36 know , another thing about me , I have lived
31:39 in marin County , across the san rafael bridge and
31:43 also at stanford California . I've lived in England in
31:48 the past , I've lived in los Angeles and Pasadena
31:53 and I now live in Richmond California . Where do
31:57 you live in Richmond ? You live close to me
31:58 ? Are you going to come to my house ?
31:59 All will be answered in time . Don't you worry

32:05 I used to do , I used to when I
32:07 was your guys' age , I played baseball and I
32:09 was good , I was an all star baseball player

32:24 skate , um , I did like that aggressive skating

32:35 you would be happy to prove that to you someday
32:39 . Um , where I went to school , I
32:40 went to school in Marin County . Um , and
32:42 I went to school called Marine Country Day School .
32:44 Then for high school I went to the school called
32:46 the Branson School . I went to stanford for undergrad
32:51 . I went to Cambridge for graduate school and I
32:54 went to the school called Loyola marymount for a teacher
32:58 school . And here's the deal . I'm good at
33:03 making your brain think about your brain right now .
33:05 I'm good at making your brain bigger at making you
33:09 smarter and I'll give you a little evidence of that
33:13 already know . I actually didn't tell you this the
33:15 other day . So two years ago , my students
33:18 were that green line right there The year before they
33:21 got 56 Of people on grade level . And then
33:25 after I told him they got 67 on grade level
33:28 , that means we went up by 11 last year
33:32 at this school We went from 35 to 52% .
33:37 So that means we went up by 17% . So
33:41 I am getting better as a teacher and we are
33:44 going to kick some serious butt . Do you know
33:47 that last year my students scored higher than El Cerrito
33:50 and any other , any other public high school in
33:53 this district , You guys better be ready to rock
33:55 and roll because you're gonna learn a lot . And
