00:08 Oh , goodness me . Thief ! Thief . Oh
00:17 , it's you , little kitty . Who who ?
00:22 And you broke onto his favorite flower pot . Come
00:26 on , We need to fix it before she comes
00:28 . Oh , thanks . Let's see if this helps
00:33 . Oh , you are already your friends . Please
00:36 don't tell Auntie about the flowerpot or she will scold
00:41 us . Let's try to repair the damage and see
00:44 if this glue could help to stick the atoms of
00:48 this flowerpot . Atoms ? Yes , kitty , everywhere
00:53 we look around is made of tiny , whiny objects
00:57 called atoms . Hey , by the time this flowerpot
01:01 tries , why don't we learn more about this exciting
01:05 subject and trouble deep into the world of atoms ?
01:10 Zoom in . So what is an atom to keep
01:16 it in simple words . Atoms are the smallest unit
01:20 of matter and building blocks of everything in the universe
01:25 be It's solid liquid or gas right , from the
01:37 grain of sand to strand of hair to your body
01:44 , to the planet stars and the moon to the
01:49 infinity and beyond . But where did it all begin
01:57 ? As the story goes , one fine day in
02:01 ancient India , Maharishi cornered an Indian scientists , sage
02:07 and philosopher was walking with food in his hand as
02:12 he ate the food after chewing for a while ,
02:15 it occurred to him that he could divide the food
02:19 into further parts , and thus the idea of a
02:23 matter which cannot be divided further came into existence .
02:28 He called that invisible matter a new a Sanskrit word
02:33 for atoms , even though sage colored was believed to
02:39 be the first one to come up with this idea
02:42 . But the credit for making this concept popular and
02:46 proposing the first atomic theory goes to a great philosopher
02:51 , Democritus , who explained that everything around us is
02:56 made up of tiny particles surrounded by empty space .
03:01 He even said that they vary in size and shape
03:06 , depending on the substances they compose . He named
03:10 these particles a Thomas , a Greek word for indivisible
03:17 . And as time progressed , this theory went into
03:21 many changes and challenges . And finally we know atoms
03:26 for what it is and what are they made of
03:29 . And what's that ? Let us see . When
03:35 you think of an atom , you probably visualize something
03:39 like this on the outer side , you got negatively
03:44 charged electrons In the center , you have the nucleus
03:49 made of neutrons that have no charge and protons ,
03:54 which have a positive charge . This model is close
03:59 enough and has been taught in your textbooks since ages
04:04 . But unfortunately , modern science doesn't agree with it
04:08 anymore , and it turns it as inaccurate . Firstly
04:15 , the nucleus in the middle is way most smaller
04:19 than this so small that you won't be able to
04:24 see it . Same goes with the electrons . Another
04:29 thing that is incorrect is that it's believed electrons orbit
04:34 around the nucleus , just like planets orbit around stars
04:39 . But it turns out that electrons , just like
04:43 the surprise math test , is really unpredictable . With
04:49 electrons , we can't really know where it is and
04:52 where it will be going . The only thing we
04:55 know is that it will be found somewhere in the
04:59 electron cloud . So now you know , Even though
05:04 this is the most famous representation of an atom ,
05:09 it is unfortunately misleading . The real picture for now
05:14 is this . Isn't it cool friends ? Now go
05:20 and surprise your teachers trip your time . Did you
05:25 know that the atoms are mostly empty ? Space ?
05:29 Yes . An atom is about 99.99999% empty . If
05:37 you remove the empty space from the atoms of all
05:41 people on the planet . The entire human population could
05:45 fit in the volume of a sugar cube . Also
05:51 , the atoms are really small . I mean ,
05:55 really , really , really , really , really ,
05:57 really , really small who they are so small that
06:05 you cannot see them . Even with the most powerful
06:09 microscope , it's question time . Today's question is ,
06:15 what is the center of an atom ? To write
06:18 your answer in the comments section below and hit the
06:21 like and subscribe button if you haven't yet to be
06:25 a part of the peekaboo family and get a chance
06:29 to get it featured by the end of our videos
06:32 . So you're rather winners of the previous episode .
06:39 Hope you enjoyed today's episode . And until next time
06:44 it's me , Dr Binoche zooming out . Oh ,
06:48 hello , Anti Hope you're doing good . Oh ,
06:53 never mind . Hey , kids . You liked my
