00:00 When you're talking about proposition all phrases , you almost
00:02 always have to start with a scene like this .
00:06 And you might ask yourself why the Frick is this
00:08 guy showing you a video of a dog running into
00:10 a wall ? Well , let me tell you ,
00:13 first of all proposition , uh , prepositional phrases usually
00:16 start with a proposition , obviously . And what is
00:21 the proposition you ask ? Well , propositions indicate direction
00:24 . For instance , the dog running away from the
00:27 wall would be very different than a dog running into
00:30 a wall . It tells you the direction . If
00:32 he's going away from it , you know he's moving
00:33 further away from the wall , whereas if he's running
00:35 into it , you know , he's gonna , you
00:37 know , smack into it . It tells you the
00:39 direction something's happening , So when you see it in
00:41 a sentence , first you'll see the article and in
00:44 English , the only articles really are the A or
00:46 an and you might see so you'll see the air
00:49 and at the beginning , and then you'll see something
00:51 like the dog ran into the door , dog being
00:54 the noun ran being the verb you could get ,
00:57 you know , a freaking fancy if you want to
00:59 and say something like The dog ran into the broken
01:01 door or the dog ran into the broken , splintered
01:06 , unhinged dog . You know , if you wanna
01:09 get fricking crazy with your kung fu English , but
01:14 you know , just some everyday examples the man came
01:16 from the store . That means , you know ,
01:18 the man's gone to the store . He's bought his
01:21 his health wise and his fat tire , whatever he
01:23 wants and he's and he's he's happily on his way
01:26 home to drink it . Whereas if you changed the
01:29 proposition all phrase and you say the boy went to
01:32 the store , you know the boy took his one
01:34 or $2 allowance . He's excited . He's he's off
01:38 to the store . He hasn't been there yet ,
01:40 so not only does it represent direction , it represents
01:43 time . It tells you when something happened and you
01:47 can usually in for it by the direction the person's
01:51 going . So , for instance , you could also
01:54 switch it around and say to the store , the
01:56 boy went , You could even Yoda eyes it all
01:58 the way and say , you know , to the
02:00 store went to the store with the boy . You
02:03 know , I sound like a freaking , you know
02:05 , Chinese man , when I say it , But
02:07 that's what a prepositional phrase is . And if you
02:10 really want to break it down , prep additional phrases
02:15 break down into the proposition , which is the direction
02:18 or the time telling you about where something is happening
02:22 and that you might have a modifier like the or
02:25 a with Maybe with some other you know , uh
02:27 , stuff . And then you'll have the now in
02:30 the pronoun or the gerund . And if you don't
02:32 know what a Jared is , you know , just
02:34 go back up to the YouTube search bar type injury
02:38 . And I'm sure some idiot with too much time
02:40 on his hand is also made A you know ,
02:41 a freaking video about Jared's . So But it might
02:44 look something like this . The proposition might be beneath
02:47 , and the noun pronoun or Jaren might be moonlight
02:50 . You don't need a modifier all the time ,
02:53 but you do need the proposition and the now in
02:55 the pronoun or the Jared and in a complete sentence
02:58 it'll look something like this . The lovers kissed beneath
03:01 moonlight and again , if you wanted , you could
03:03 get fricking fancy with it . You could change it
03:05 all around and say the lovers kissed beneath the desolate
03:08 moonlight . However , the freak you want to say
03:10 it , it has toe have the noun at the
03:13 end , the proposition at the beginning and any modifiers
03:17 that you want for those two things in the middle
03:20 . And that , my Friends , is a prep
03:22 additional phrase in a nutshell .
