For example, express the calculation "add 8 and 7, then multiply by 2" as 2 × (8 + 7). Recognize that 3 × (18932 + 921) is three times as large as 18932 + 921, without having to calculate the indicated sum or product.

The chairs in the front half of the school auditorium are arranged in 9 rows of 20. The chairs in the back half are arranged in 5 rows of 25. Which expression could be used to find how many chairs are set up in the auditorium altogether?
