Today is a special day. It's Jake's birthday, and I am excited about the party. Mom helped me pick a cool toy car as a gift. She wrapped it in shiny blue paper.

Mom and I drove to Jake's house. I handed the gift to Jake's mom when we arrived. Inside, the house was full of decorations, balloons, and fun games, like pin the tail on the donkey. I joined in the games. I played with friends and had a great time. There was even a magic show.

Jake opened his presents. He loved the toy car. Then, we ate cake and ice cream. We each got a goodie bag with candies and stickers. When the party was over, I thanked Jake's mom and told Jake goodbye. As I waved goodbye, I was still thinking about how much fun birthdays are with friends. I couldn’t wait to share stories from the party.

On the way home, mom asked, "What was your favorite part of the party, Tommy?” I said I liked the magic show, playing with the toy car, and the magic show was the best. Birthday parties are fun. Kids like them.

When I got home, I told the rest of my family all about the games, the magic show, and the birthday cake. Mom smiled and said, "It sounds like Jake had the best birthday!"

That night, I sat down to draw a picture of the birthday party. It was 9:00 p.m. I planned to give the drawing to Jake as a special thank-you card. I thought about how much fun it would be to have a magic show at my own birthday party someday.

The next day at school, I handed the drawing to Jake with a big smile. Jake's eyes lit up with joy! He gave me a high-five. After school, Jake ran to show the drawing to all our friends. He thought the drawing was perfect to show his special day.

What did Tommy plan to give Jake as a special thank-you card?
