(3) The Center for Disease Control recommends 2.5 hours of moderate aerobic activity each week, along with 2 days of strength training. (4) Americans are clearly not abiding by these minimum recommendations, as the numbers prove. (5) It is necessary for Americans to get more exercise in order to lead a healthy life. (6) There is no good reason for healthy people not to exercise but the there are many benefits including maintaining a healthy weight, relieving everyday stress and lowering one’s chances for certain diseases.
