An astronomer used to go out every night to observe stars. He would often be seen with a telescope in one hand and a notebook in the other. One evening, while he wandered through the suburbs with his whole attention fixed on the sky, he accidentally fell into a deep uncovered well. He cried out loudly for help. As he waited there to be rescued, he lamented and bewailed his sores and bruises.

His neighbor was passing by and happened to hear his wailing and lamenting. He quickly helped the astronomer out of the well.
