A trapezoid in which the two non-parallel sides are equal in length is called an isosceles trapezoid. ABCD (see the diagram below) is an isosceles trapezoid, with dimensions, AD = BC = 5 cm. Two parallel sides AB and DC measure 8 cm. and 14 cm. respectively. Find the area of the trapezoid ABCD.
