When I was little my mom gave me a diary. She told me that it was something really personal and special and I could use it to write down all of my thoughts and ideas. She said that some famous people kept diaries and when they died, their diary was published into a book. Anne Frank is someone who did this. She was originally from Germany. During the time of World War II, the Nazi soldiers were in power in Germany; they did not like Jews. Anne and her family were Jewish so they had to hide. They went to Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Her diary tells the story of the time when they lived in hiding in concealed rooms in Amsterdam.
