Tennessee Teacher of the year – Cathy Whitehead


Cathy Whitehead has been awarded as Tennessee Teacher of the year for the year 2015-16. She is well known for her leadership and for her instructions to students.

“The Teacher of the Year Awards is an opportunity to recognize instructional leaders across the state as well as an opportunity to highlight effective and innovative instructional practices,“ Education Commissioner Candice McQueen said.

“She teaches all of us to look for the best, work hard, smile often, and do our best for students every day,” West Chester Elementary Principal Amy Wooley said.

Cathy Whitehead is serving in West Chester Elementary in Henderson, Tennessee as teacher for third-grade students. She was applauded by her friends for her drawing experience creative thinking.
