About PARCC

PARCC stands for Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers. A group of states form PARCC to design and build modern assessments that will replace the previous state standardized tests. These new age assessments will help educators and parents efficiently identify students’ strengths and weaknesses. Educators can modify and increase their instruction based on the outcomes of these tests to help students learn effectively.

PARCC Assessments assess students on skills meant to be met as per the Common Core standards. Students will take these tests for both math and ela aptitude for specific grade levels. The test format currently includes a summative assessment at the end of year that will evaluate the student’s college and career readiness.

Participating States: Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Louisiana, New Jersey,New Mexico, Rhode Island
