Description: Different classes of numbers.


  • NUMBERS

    • Integers

      1. All Positive Numbers  - {1, 2, 3, .....}
      2. Zero - {0}
      3. All Negative Numbers - {-1, -2, -3, .....}
      4. Does NOT include Fractions and Decimals.
    • Natural

      1. All Positive Numbers  - {1, 2, 3, .....}
      2. Does NOT include Fractions and Decimals.
    • Whole

      1. Zero and All Positive Numbers - {0, 1, 2, 3, .....} 
      2. Does NOT include Fractions and Decimals.
    • Odd 

      1. A number NOT exactly divisible by 2
      2. A number with UNITS digit as {1, 3, 5, 7, 9}
      3. Includes both negative and positive integers.
    • Even

      1. A number which is exactly divisible by 2.
      2. A number with UNITS digit as {0, 2, 4, 6, 8}
      3. Includes both negative and positive integers.
    • Prime

      1. A number that is only divisible by 1 and itself.
      2. Does NOT include negative numbers.
      3. 1 is NOT a prime number.
      4. 2 is the only EVEN prime number.
    • Composite

      1. A number which has factors other than 1 and itself.
      2. Does NOT include negative numbers.
      3. 1 is NOT a composite number.
    • Fractions

      1. A fraction is a part of a whole number.
      2. It is denoted by a/b , where a is the Numerator and b is the Denominator
    • Decimals

      1. A decimal number is a number having a decimal point.
      2. The decimal point is placed between UNITS place and TENTHS place.
      3. The number to the left of the decimal point is a full number.
      4. The number to the right of the decimal point is a part number.
