    When thinking about eating food, think about trying good fruits and vegetables that do not come from a fast food place or have too much sugar put in them. Fruits and vegetables can help you grow and are good for you. Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best.

    Have you ever tried apples, bananas, berries, oranges, pears and avocados? They have good nutrients and vitamins to keep you healthy.

    They help you grow, keep you strong and can help you learn better.

    Fruits can help you from getting sick, too.

    Some kids like just one kind of fruit, but you need many kinds of fruits.

    The nutrients in fruits have minerals in them that your body needs. They have Vitamin C, A, B1, B2, and B6. These vitamins are essential to you.

    Good Vegetables

    Do you like all vegetables? Probably not. Vegetables give you the energy you need. You might want to try vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, greens and of course, green beans, corn and carrots.

    Some people cook their vegetables while others like them raw.

    Vegetables have nutrients and vitamins in them, too.

    Nutrients in vegetables give you minerals such as vitamin A, B7, B9, and K. Vegetables can help build strong bones and teeth while you grow.

    How Much to Eat Each Day?

    For your age, you should eat about 1 andfrac12; cups of fruit each day and about 2 cups of vegetables.

    Surprise your parents and ask them to make you a chart to be sure you are eating the amount you should each day!

    Fruits and vegetables will not make you fat. So, eat plenty! It's ok to eat more, too!
