Bengaluru: Edtech startup Toppr has raised t45 crore in its second round of
Series-Bfunding, led by its existing in
vestors SAIF Partners, Helion Ventu
res and FIL Capital Management.
Toppr is a test prep platform that
helps students from classes 5 to 12 pre-
pare for exams such as JEE, AIIMS
BITSAT COMED K and the likes.

This capital will be used to expand
e geographical footprint and accele
rate user acquisition. We are going to
build distribution in around 35 diffe-
rent cities. In 2016, we grew 5X on reve-
nue. In 2017, we are on track to growing
other 5X. Our users are on the app
for 100 minutes everyday."
The edtech startup also projects 20x
growth in its junior grades and 15x
growth in its senior grades subscrip-
tion by 2021, thereby making it a com-
pany with over $500 million in revenue
in the next four years, according to a
company release.
Toppris also workingon including lo-
wer grade classes into its product offe-
ring. It has already integrated the
CBSE and ICSE syllabus. "We have al
ready built for CBSE and ICSE and
three or four other boards for the lower
grades. We want to build for all 30 bo-
ards,"said Hayath
Hayath and team are also in the pro
cess of customising the learning path
for students. For example, an eighth
standard student wanting to pursue
JEE will have a different path than an
eighth standard student working on
an Olympiad.
"Courses are diverse, each syllabus is
very customised. You can track indivi
dual progress separately" said Hay
ath. The startup caters to over 2 mil
lion registered students in classes 5-12
