The test window for GMAS for the year 2024 is as follows: Grades 3 – 8 Math & ELA: April 27 through May 5, 2024

There are 3 sessions for GMAS ELA and 2 sessions for GMAS Math test. Session 1 is on a single day and Session 2 and 3 are given on a single day or over 2 days.

    The performance levels for GMAS are:

  • Distinguished Learner: The students exhibit advanced proficiency and a high level of learning and skills necessary as specified in Georgia Milestone Standards and are well prepared for next grade level or course and are prepared for college and career readiness.
  • Proficient Learner: The students exhibit proficiency and a high level of learning and skills necessary as specified in Georgia Milestone Standards.
  • Developing Learner: The students exhibit partial proficiency and a high level of learning and skills necessary as specified in Georgia Milestone Standards. The students need additional academic support to ensure success in the next grade level or course and to be on track for college and career readiness.
  • Beginning Learner: The students do NOT exhibit proficiency and a high level of learning and skills necessary as specified in Georgia Milestone Standards.

The question types in GMAS Test for Math include
1) Selected Response or Multiple-choice questions
2) Multi-select or two-part questions
3) Technology-enhanced questions or TECRS such as drag and drop, Hot text, equation editor, plot the point, bar chart etc

The question types in GMAS Test for ELA include
1) Selected Response or Multiple-choice questions
2) Multi select or two part questions
3) Technology-enhanced questions or TECRS such as drag and drop, Hot text
4) Short Constructed response items
5) Extended Constructed response items

The duration of the GMAS test is as below: GMAS ELA Session 1 is for 90 minutes (maximum), session 2 and 3 are for 80 minutes each (maximum). GMAS Math session 1 and 2 are for 65 minutes each (maximum).
